This 2.5" SSD external drive enclosure works great. I have 3 SSD drives that I removed from am old PC, and I wanted to acces the data on those drives from a new computer.PROS:1. Price2. Fast3. Easy to use4. Works greatCONS:1. Cover is difficult to remove2. Drives fit very snugly into enclosure and are difficult to insert and remove until you've done it a couple of times. At first it seemed it was not going to fitI am very happy with this purchase. The enclosure is very sturdy, foolproof and fast. It does exactly what I needed it for.Note: The attached picture shows the enclosure without the cover on

My dad had an old apple MacBook pro (around 2008 intel series) that has been having some "blue screen of death" since 2018 every time it boots. nothing worked.. so of course we had to upgrade to a new laptop but we didn't transfer data probably because of this issue.Just now we decided on getting an enclosure and it mounted on the desktop on his previous bought m1 MacBook pro with the latest updates. Works great and everything and the disk was able to fit snugly. It came with additional adhesive "pads" I guess what it's called to keep the HD stationary. And a very good price too compared to retail store that has enclosures being a ridiculous 2-3x the cost of this. It took 1-2 days delivery but its worth it.

Got this to add an external SSD to an HP All-In-One that only has one HDD drive bay - which has been upgraded to a SSD. I'm mainly using it for Quickbooks Desktop backups. I tried using a thumb drive but QB would literally take 10 minutes or more to "finalize" the backup and fininsh, allowing use of the QB software again. Everything worked fine but I have no idea why the delay. It would get to about 90% and just lag. So I plugged in an extra SSD from an old laptop into a HDD utility box that uses a power chord and cables to connect an uninstalled HDD or SSD to a USB port. It worked fine with QB backup so I bought this case to make the connection less messy and more permanent. The case is very basic with a sliding cover and internal SATA connection. It's a tight fit for the SSD but that keeps it from moving around. It comes with 2 felt pads that you can install on the cover to hold the SSD more firmly in place but I decided not to use them. One pad is 1.5mm thick and the other is 3mm.The chord has both a USB-A and USB-C convertible end - the USB-C plugs in to the USB-A, or you can use the USB-C by itself. I'm using the USB-A connection. After installation and plugging it into a USB port the unit powers on and is immediately available for use.The instructions say to initialize and partition the SSD before use if brand new, but mine was already set to go. I need a magnifying glass to read the instructions, but they are clear and easily followed. It says after 10 minutes the device goes into "smart sleep mode" and powers down the SSD to save energy and preserve the life of the SSD. I'm not sure if this actually happens on my system because the power light stays lit on the box continually.Overall this is a sturdy case that firmly holds the SSD in place and functions well when plugged in to the USB port. Recommended.

Works well. The item is light and the speeds are pretty good for how cheap it is. The ability to use either USB A or C on the cable is a nice add on. Only issue is it would be nice if the cable was a little longer. Other than that it is a great product.

Works well. Nice to have the option of the 2 usb connectors. Super easy install of a SSD. No screws, slides open, good protection for the ssd.

I just needed something for my Mac and an 2.5" SSD. It works fine, I like the USB-USBc plug switch, but it is plastic.

Perfect for most users. Easy to install drive, awesome dual USB-C and A connectors attached so not going to lose it when most needed.Easy, no tool installation of drive, just slide cover, insert drive slide cover back on, plug in, and ready to move some files.Fast enough for daily back-ups, archiving and external drive (since Apple is offering ridiculously laughable teeny, tiny storage. And charging stupid greedy money for reasonable storage). As mentioned plug and play (just format actual drive) for Mac's or Windows machines.Cons: All plastic, so not great for cooling (and unless you are using the drive constantly, reading and writing almost non-stop, should not be an issue. But be aware. And not sure how it would do in a fall on hard floor, though with sad it is relatively light, but again be aware. Final issue is a Pro and a Con, short attached USB cable. Nice it is dual USB, and attached, so no chance if misplacing it m, and nice to pack and carry. But not so good if cord gets damaged, and is about 6-8" short. So unless you can get close to computer port, you may need an extension (min. $8-9).But if you can deal with a couple possible issues, this is a cheap, very capable enclosure for a vast majority of users.
