My original fan was making a horrible drowning noise and was very loud. I thought it was an insulation issue, but decided to just replace it with this new upgraded fan motor and it fixed everything. This fan has completely fixed the noise issue and is very quiet. I recommend.

It fit into the old housing securely - all the screw holes lined up perfectly and it plugged right into the power plug in the old housing.But boy oh boy is it loud. Not air-movement loud, but vibration loud. It thrums up and down methodically as if the speed is changing every so slightly. I know it's exaggerated by the metal housing, but it is mounted tightly. The vibration of the housing is because of vibration of the motor and fan.This was the ONLY replacement motor / fan combo on the market though, so I'm glad it exists - hopefully I just got a lemon.Ultimately, I think I'll end up installing an in-line fan in the ductwork, and remove this fan from the housing entirely. More work, but ultimately a quieter solution.

I got this to swap out a whining blower motor on my Nutone exhaust fan for my bathroom. The removal and installation of the new fan were pretty simple. This fan is a direct fit and replacement. I think these fans all use the same or similar blowers, so it's a 15-minute job once you get the fan out of the ceiling mount. The new fan is much, much quieter than the one it replaced and works perfectly. It should be good for another 10 years.

This motor was a perfect fit replacement for Nutone QT-80-B and swap was simple and quick. Fan motor is quiet and high quality.
