It can get hot if both laptops are relying on the KVM power but in my case 1 laptop is a 4070 Ti gaming model, and the other an older HP. Once both laptops are on separate power, the KVM immediately cools back down and stabilizes (when super hot, the displays start occasionally going black and back on in a 0.5 second, which was annoying until I figured out the power issue. Working perfectly with a wireless mouse, wired keyboard, webcam, soundbar audio and shared Ethernet. Bought the remote switch button and it really is convenient and has a little 1/2 indicator on it in case the switch is out of sight. Really like that the number of shared USB devices is 6 plus audio on this one. And it turns out even the memory SD card slot came in handy to dump some photos quickly.Monitors running at 3840x2160@60 and 3840x1600@75 without an issue. I really like when things just work as advertised.

This KVM switch is perfect for my dual laptops and monitors! It works very smoothly and with no issues!

Just arrived yesterday and I’m already very impressed. It does everything it says it would, plus one or two things it didn’t say it could!The switching is seamless, the elimination of window resizing, sharing of peripherals - including a bluetooth mouse that is now shared across all devices (connected to the unifying receiver plugged into the Dock).One thing the product description doesn’t tell you is that it will support an ultra wide monitor at 3440 x 1440.I was forced into buying a new hub after my old one died, and now I wish I’d had a 2 laptop hub a long time ago.Well done AV Access 👏

I use both a personal and work laptop throughout my workday and this product has been exactly what I needed to switch between the two with ease. I have a single 4k monitor attached to this dock along with my standard inputs (keyboard / mouse). With a click of a button, I can seamlessly change between laptops and even an iPad when connected, all while keeping my inputs available and active. I appreciate the added full SD card slot. I use SD cards for photography and this is an easy solution since many new laptops no longer feature SD card slots. This is the second device I have purchased from AV Access and I have been very impressed with their quality. Would recommend if you are looking for a similar solution.

I absolutely love this kvm. It works seamlessly with 2 laptops and 2 monitors. I noticed when I plugged it in, it worked awesome but was always warm and hot. I reached out via chat to the company and they promised they had it QA tested and is supposed to be fine. Then my monitor screens started flickering and I never had that issue before. I use this for work and personal laptop. The first month was good but the second month teams video calls all of a sudden stopped working and my internet connection would stall but this was when I realized the kvm was running extremely hot. The issue was I had to be in the meeting and ended up using my phone which is not a good work around. I left it on overnight and the next morning it was extremely hot, even when I wasn’t using the laptops so kept an eye on it. After work I left it on and running but it overheated and shut down. I unplugged the power source, waited for it to cool down, powered it up and was working again. I got my usb fan and put it beside the kvm to keep it cool but the monitor flickering was horrible, it overheated again and I believe because of the heat it shut down. I’m using 2 DP ports and the usb-c cables provided. I switched to 1 DP and 1 HDMI and still screen flickering was happening.I really love this kvm and tried to make it work but due to the overheating, screen flickering, and screwing up my video calls I had to return back to my old regular docking station.To improve this kvm if there was an on/off switch to turn it off at night instead of manually unplugging the power cord this would be a huge benefit.Another improvement is the overheating. If there was a way to keep it cool without using a usb fan, and if the heating issue itself was resolved I would buy this again. It worked amazing when it did work. But when it started having issues, it was issues nonstop and I’m sad cause I love this KVM. I was also worried about the overheating as it shut down 2x on me and I can’t have that happening.

Using it for almost 20 days now, so here is my honest opinion:1) First let's discuss setup:I have a personal "gaming" ROG Zephyrus M16 (2022) with 3080TI. I have some none name company Dell laptop with Ryzen 7 4750U. Laptops are using Windows 11 Pro and Windows 10 Pro correspondently.Next monitors: Internal gaming laptop have 2k 165Hz display. Internal dell laptop 1080p 60hz. External Dell monitor G3223D 2k 165Hz and Asus VA27EHE monitor with 75Hz refresh rate.2) Review:Pros:* I don't think there is anything on the market that have 2 USB-c input and can work like a hub, so this product is the only choice!* Device split ethernet connection between both laptops so your "inactive" device will be always online.* Tons of ports, should be enough for any regular user.* Device is emulating screen for "inactive" laptop and you won't have problems with messy windows sizes/icons movement all around the desktop/strange RDP behavior and etc.Cons:* My Dell 2k 165hz monitor is NOT working in 165hz mode not it's working in 144hz mode. It's shows artefacts only and I verified that connecting it via second USB-c port directly to laptop fix the problem. HDMI cables are also good 2.1 standard cables so at least 144hz refresh rate should work, but it is not.* Device is not working with my other thunderbold-4/usb-4 type-c cables. I am not sure why, I understand that instruction says to use only original one, but why??? And when original one will wear out what I will have to do?????* Device does not support DDC/CI pass though so you will not be able to change your monitors brightness, and even my old semi-working messy Baseus hub supported that! My eyes will never recover from that :((((((((* Other reviews mention that device get hot and this is partially true for me as well. But when I connect gaming laptop to original power break (99% of the time) looks like internal USB-C power supply can get some rest and kvm switch getting less heat and it's getting just warm, not hot hot.* Other reviews mentioned that switch between laptops can take up to 5 seconds. This is again partially true for me: 1080 display got online in 1.5 second, but the main 2k display took around 3 seconds.* Device mention "wake up" function, but it's not working for both my laptops, and I triple checked USB wake-up settings* When you turn off your laptops and than turn them back on they didn't find the external displays before you disconnect USB-c cable and connect it back. Sometimes it takes 2-3 attempts before it starts working.* For some reason I wasn't able to run all 3 displays: rather internal or 2 external. This might be the way how it works or even my laptops hardware limitations but still good to share for those who expect that setup to work.Resolution: it might look like device have more cons than pros from my review, but as I mentioned before AV Access is the only company that offer smth like. This is the only company that filled the niche and did that not badly. If we would have competitors with same price tag I would give product 3 star, but since they are the only one who "cared about us" — it's 5 stars minus 1 as regarding all cons.I am sharing the review not to stop other customers but to share feedback to the company so next generation of devices or maybe some kind of firmware upgrade will improve the quality.

This is an excellent product. I've searched a long time for something to allow me to 1) share keyboard, mouse, etc. between work and home laptops, 2) add connectivity for each with their limited USB-C connecters and 3) to enable push button switching from one machine to the other. This product does all 3 out the box and my desk is now the cleanest it has even been! Great stuff.

I have been a simultaneous Mac and Windows user with two laptops daily. The USB4 got me excited when it was invented. It is only this KVM that I found to support 2x USB4 for switching and 2x monitors. I only use 1 ultrawide monitor and it works perfectly still! For me this is a game changer, this simplifies my cable management and cleans my desk clutter! I am so happy that it also switches instantly compared to my previous KVMs. There is some heat to it, but its the type of heat I am accustomed to with smilar products I used. It did not affect my usage or the effectivity of this product. I highly recommend this! If ever I would complain is the price, which is why I bought it only on Black Friday. There should be more competition!

Everything works well and it was super easy to connect.Issue No. 1: THIS BOX IS EXTREMELY HOT...I am afraid something will overheat soon.Issue No. 2: The audio and microphone connections do not work. No sound comes out of the speakers when they are plugged into the box. Microphone doesn't work either.
