I replaced my JuiceBox 32amp charger (which died on me after a few weeks, and the company suspended North American operations) with the Autel 40amp EV charger and so far I love it. No problems charging my 2024 Ford Escape PHEV. I live in a townhouse and set this charger to 32amps which works great with my 40amp circuit breaker. I had to manually set the amperage to 32amps within the device, which was fairly easy. Work with a certified electrician!

Love the convenience of charging at home! The app is great too. This is a good product

Charging an EV and a PHEV with it (not at the same time). Charging times are ideal for me for at home charging and no issues with performance. I see significant savings charging at home (depends where you live).Phone app shows all I need to see and stores all charging history for my records.I ended up removing the supply cable and plug and permanently wired it into a 60A regular 2 pole circuit breaker (electric code requires a ground fault protected feed if plug connected!).Regarding the question of 40A vs. 48A, I personally don't see the point and time advantage of getting a significantly more expensive unit and charge 20% faster, that is about and hour or hour and a half of an overnight charging. Either way it is a full overnight charge for an EV, so no benefit. For a PHEV there is no difference since those normally charge slower by design, so cannot use the 40A or 48A full capacity anyway! My only challenge for installation was to route the charging cable in my garage to serve both cars from one connector stand location. Added photos for the plug and cable support I did.

So I received this the other day and installation was pretty straightforward pretty simple. However, I noticed that on this particular model it says up to 40 A. I’m never getting a complete 40 A. I’m getting maybe 32 to probably 36. One thing I don’t understand is inside the box. It says you can change the amperage by it with a little dial And I changed mine to 48 because I have a 60 amp breaker, but I guess it doesn’t make a difference because this says it only can go up to 40 A so I don’t know why they tell you that if it ain’t gonna do it I guess I would’ve had to bought the next model up that goes up to 50 A and maybe that would have done it. another thing is is this is supposed to charge at 7.7 kW per hour however I noticed on the app when looking at my last charge it was at 7.7 and I have several drops that go down to two maybe three sometimes zero and then back up so I don’t know why the power is dropping either. I had to call customer service yesterday after receiving it because we’re taking it out of the box. there was a rattle inside the charger itself. I called the customer service number and the first time I called I didn’t get to talk to anybody and then it wanted to ask me how my service was if they resolved my problem so I called back actually talked to a person and all they wanted me to do was open the box up send a picture via email and they were supposed to respond. I have yet to hear anything back from anybody from our hotel customer service to see what the issue was. Well I found what the issue was. Is that the bottom plug and beat them in the middle between the two large cords where an ethernet cord can go through the plug was out and the nut was just rattling around inside. So that doesn’t sound like very good quality control or maybe this was a unit somebody returned I don’t know. Hopefully their customer service is better than what I’ve experienced so far and I hope that somebody starts answering the emails. The app works fairly well so far. It definitely gives me a lot of information way better than what my Lexus app gives me.

Worked great easy to install and connecting with the app.It would have been nice if the plug to the 50 amp outlet was about 5 feet long.Cut charging time by about 2/3rds.

I purchased the Autel on a Prime day and got a very good deal on it, over $150 less than the next, least expensive charger. The 25' length cable is a BIG plus for me, allowing me flexibility in parking the car. It's the longest of any of the chargers that I found at the time. It's an excellent charger, in both operation and design. It does the job, reliably and without fail. It has very stable current and has never had a fault or overheated, as the OEM GM charger frequently did. The mounting hardware is simple and capable. Anyone can install this charger. The app still needs some work with the UX, but it's enough for my undemanding needs. I would recommend this charger to anyone.Small con: The cable is on the thicker side and becomes stiff in the winter, but I just let it lay on the garage floor, rather than coil it. State of Charge (on Youtube) tested the Autel and when chilled in his freezer test, the release mechanism of the plug broke on a 6' drop test, so be careful in the cold (Autel did send a replacement part for him).

This charger has a nice app that enables you to set the charge start and stop time. I tried others and they did not have this capability even claiming it in their product description. This unit works fine up to 40Amps 220-240 volts. It is perfect for the EVs that don’t have the start/stop charging option. The App is very user friendly. The only issue is that the charging cable is very thick and heavy. I have a Tesla charger also with 40 amp but the cable is half the size and weight. I just wonder why this one is so thick and heavy? 🤨🤨

My handyman/electrician saved me a few dollars by hardwiring it and not installing a plug. So far have only tested it. But I was very impressed with the looks and output of the unit. Also the app was easy to use.
