I have the cheapest battery operated drill ever and these worked like a charm. Trying to reclaim a rocky bit of ground but I'm just not up to a big effort of digging things up for replanting. This was so much better than a shovel. The main thing to remember is to let the drill go slow so you can STOP if you hit a rock and you won't hurt a wrist when you meet roots or other sources of resistance. This is NOT like driving screws into hardwood flooring. It's more like carving butter. Okay, butter with roots and big rocks but the point is a light touch gets it done. Instead of wrestling with a shovel I sat in a lawn chair and plugged away at it. NICE!

Heavy duty steel (stainless?) w/reinforced (tungsten?) tips on all 4 augers [??see Amazon ad description??].Hex shank provides the most secure grip in your drill chuck.*Periodically check tightness of the hex shank in the drill chuck while in use; it is likely to loosen due to digging stresses. Can be used with cordless drills, but most of these are NOT BUILT for this kind of stress.I used a double insulated, corded 110V electric drill w/1/2" chuck and was not disappointed.DO NOT LOCK DRILL TRIGGER TO 'ON' POSITION, and don't put a death grip on the drill. If auger snags something in the ground the drill will twist your wrist until it snaps out of your hands. Guaranteed painfull!!

Auger Drill Bits are well made and sturdy. I needed them because I was planting in an area with extensive palm tree roots. Needed to set the torque range higher on my drill. Augur handled it well. Sure made the job much easier. Wish I had found these years ago.

I just used these the other day. Wow that makes digging holes much easier. And we live on land that has rocks and clay. It worked very well .

The different sizes were good for different applications. Built strong and easy to clean. I hit a couple of rocks and they didn’t bend or break. Thank you

I just put in my garden using the two larger augers to drill holes for my greenhouse starts in 4" and 3" pots. I use an old 14.4 V Dewalt cordless drill. My soil is very gravelly, an old gravel bar from the Willamette River, but very productive. I plant in previously use spots so they are not real compact but are slow to dig with a hand trowel. These bits fit my drill perfectly and the holes are dug in seconds. I guess they cut the preparation time at least in half. The bits are sturdy and work through the gravel (stones from small to 2" diameter) easily. They do use a lot of power. I can dig about a dozen holes and then need to recharge. I have 3 batteries that are several years old so it is easy to have one charged and ready to go all the time. I don't know how long a new battery might work. This is an excellent product and I expect they will last for years with annual use.
