I used this to drill holes for anchoring a portable garage. There were 6 pcs 24" long anchors. It took half the day wearing out my arms to get one in by hand using a pipe through the eye of the anchor. Then I ordered this. It took about 5 minutes each to drill the holes for the rest. Fabulous! You DO have to rest the drill handle against your leg or body for support to prevent a broken wrist when you hit a rock or root and your power screwdriver spins. I was a bit skeptical, but I am sure glad I gave this a try!

Construction seems fine enough for what we pay for it. Box was missing the nuts, bolts, and wrenches. So I couldn't use it right out of the box.

Bought this auger to dig a few holes with my medium power drill—figured it would save me some back pain.Well, it did... for about nine holes. Then it decided it was done with this earthly existence. If you’re looking for a tool with the lifespan of a mayfly and the durability of a wet tissue, this is the one for you. At least it gave up before I did.RIP, you glorious, disappointing piece of junk.

I live in western NC. The soil is red clay like used in making bricks. It is as hard as a brick. I needed to plant a small tree and because of back issues can't dig with a shovel or mattock. I used this auger in my half inch Hvy duty hammer drill and it broke up the ground very easily. I then could easily shovel the loose soil out.It also worked great for digging holes for fence posts. I highly recommend. If it can get thru my compacted clay soil it can get thru yours.

Works awesome for post holes. Drill down in your hole and then clean out with post hole digger. As an old man was able to dig 2 ft. holes about as easily as 10 inch holes used to take. Works pretty well and is cheap.

We like everything about this auger. The fact that the screws were anti slip screws makes this sturdy auger work well without having to tighten the screws when reversing out of the hole. Living in AZ the "dirt" is alkaline and hard to get through. We make our own PVC deep irrigator 3 foot long stakes for deep watering fruit and pecan trees and this makes the holes easy to do. Recommend watering the ground thoroughly before using.

This made very easy work of planting over 150 plants we got from a local garden center. The only reason it has 4 stars is that it comes in 2 parts and is reliant on a couple of hex screws which could create issues with continued torsion stress. Will see how it works over time, but for the price I think it's worth it.
