Had an ugly, old fashioned pull cord hanging down from my attic stairs that was right in the way of the door in our spare bedroom. It needed to go. I found this pull down hook system and it did the trick. It was easy to install the decorative eye bolt into the place where the rope was installed. It virtually disappears as now there isn’t an unsightly rope hanging down. The decorative brass “rosette” looks fancy and helps to secure the loop. If I had one complaint it is that there weren’t any instructions included with the kit. While it is somewhat intuitive to install this, i didn’t realize that the pole can lock in place by twisting it. Luckily, there was a video of a different system on the web and I then realized that you can lock this in place. But that was only a minor issue. Also, it comes with 2 brass hooks that I guess are used to store the pole. While I can figure out how to use them, a) the pole hook isn’t able to hang from one of the brass hooks and b) if you put the two horizontally they will take up a lot of wall space and I’m not sure if the pole would sit securely in the hooks. But again, I just put the pole in the closet near the stairs. Overall, this is a good product and worth the cost.
