A nice looking and stream lined telescopic pull that feels sturdy and stays at the length it is set.Easy to adjust and tucks away into a small profile. This works very well for our needs. We got this to use on cordless window blinds that are mounted on a bank of high windows approximately 10' up. The flat hook allows the window blinds to easily be hooked from the window side of the blinds and opened or closed to the correct height. We tried another type of hook previous to this that was a semi circle. The semi circle type would not slip in to the pull down. This works so much better.The telescoping works like a normal telescoping tool. A half turn counter clockwise to loosen, pull out to the desired length and then a half turn clockwise to lock into place.The hook mounts are an added benefit. We installed the hook out of sight in a nearby closet so it's always easy to grab where we need it.

I almost gave this 4 stars because all the similar poles I see for kits like this on Amazon look the same but I don't think that makes up for the fact that this somewhat flimsy pole is intended to pull down attic stairs with what are in my case and many others pretty stiff springs holding against. I think I will need to find a solid pole I can adapt into the hook for this ring and use that. Apart from the pole, the one thing that could improve this kit is a mockup of the suggested installation options for the given hardware. It's straightforward enough though. Either the machine screw or the threaded rod fits the female threads on the ring, and you should use at least one washer on the topside of your ladder. Please ignore how beat up my ladder's cover currently is. I do need to repair and repaint it.

My house was built in the late 90's as part of a master subdivision plan. They made all these home using similar builders grade items. I hated the fact that my attic pull down had this ugly dirty looking mylon string hanging in the middle of my hallway. I replaced the string with this and it is so much better! My husband is a little taller than I am so the length of the string was not an issue for him, but I am only 5'4" and have 10' high ceilings so that string had to be pretty long for me to reach it! I hated it dangling! This was the perfect answer for me. With our hot water heater and furnace being up in the attic if I was home and had a repariman come to the house or even to change the hot water heater to different temps was a chore for me to reach. So much better now! My laundry room is right beside where the staircase folds down to, I put a hook in there to hang the attic hook off of. Great item!

Nice quality attic pull-down hook. I got it to replace the old pull-down cord. I love that there is no cord in your face. It is fairly easy to install. It is compatible with most pull-down attic covers. The grip is comfortable. The design is smart; when you need to make the rod longer you untwist it, pull out, and twist back to secure. The little extra rod coming off the hook doesn't seem to have a purpose, wish it just had the hook. The rod is hard to open and close. I may need to lubricate it with something.
