About this item

  • The 2" anodized aluminum cell threads into the nosepiece of an astrophotography camera or filter wheel
  • Attaches easily to any 2" astrophotography accessory
  • Advanced coatings applied to the precision polished optical glass minimize in-band reflections
  • This an excellent luminance filter for LRGB astrophotography
  • IR filter blocks ultraviolet "UV" and infrared "IR" light wavelengths for higher contrast CCD images

One of our High Transmission (HT) precision range of filters, this 2" Luminance & Clear filter is sure to impress on performance, quality and price. Each filter comes with its own individual data sheet of performance - guaranteed! This is the equivalent to the MC-Clear filter and is used for the same purposes which are to maintain the parfocal characteristics if using other HT filters and is required by your imaging system, to keep out unwanted reflections and for dust protection. It has UV and IR blocking characteristics. The filter is constructed to the same exacting standards as the other filters in the HT series and its multicoating cuts out unwanted reflections without changing the natural colours. Our Luminance & Clear filter is excellent for keeping dust at bay from your optical sensors. It also has the same scratch resistance and is constructed on the same high quality optical substrate.

Very Happy with this filter. Was looking for something to use along with my narrowband filters. This, for the price is great. It darkens the sky just enough and allows stars to come through. Using it on the bootes galaxy and other galaxies. Very happy I tried it. Can't wait to process my images. I'll try to post once completed.

I used this on the nosepiece of televue .8 reducer. On the camera end, I was using a zwo asi 294. It did the job of cutting IR light so the stars weren't bloated. But there does seem to be some vignetting effect.
