I haven't had a chance to use it yet, so the verdict is still out. They don't provide a phone number for customer service for questions I asked, and they gave an e-mail address, which I wrote to, but they didn't respond. I just mainly want to use it to convert cassette tapes to digital files that I can send in e-mails. The machine is very light and feels flimsy. I expressed a wish in the unanswered e-mail I sent to them that, for the cassette recorder, it had a counter, to know where you are on a tape, and also a |review" function, where you can go backwards when in Play mode, to be able to hear where you are trying to get back to. Both of those features were standard in cassette recorders in the old days, but impossible to find now. I wish the machine were heavier and felt more solid, and I have no use whatever for the AM/FM radio that's in it, and would rather not have it. They say cassette tapes are "coming back" Tapes I used to buy at Half Price Books for 50 cents or a dollar are now 6 or 8 dollars, because, they say, of the renewed popularity. Plus blank tapes at Amazon.com are a lot more expensive than they used to be. But there are no decent portable recorders to support all that popularity.

I think I just got a faulty cassette player. It wouldn’t play any tape no matter which one I would put in and then it wouldn’t play any eat the tape portion of the cassette. I do not recommend this product.

Multiple functional makes this thing perfect I love cassettes and I love walkmens and the fact this brings together both digital and classic is perfect. I get a modern FM AM radio, classic cassette recording and playing and the ability to convert my cassettes to SD or convert files from an SD card to cassette which comes in handy for working on old cars. Really worth the price

This is probably the perfect device for easily converting songs from an audio tape to MP3. While listening to your cassette, simply press the button for MP3 to begin recording, then press it again to stop. You can record a single song at a time, or the entire side of a cassette and then divide them up later on a computer with appropriate audio software (which is what I do). The sound recording is superb, as it is also when using headphones to listen - the single built-in mono speaker does not sound so great, but sounds okay when listening to talk radio. I definitely recommend this for transferring old tapes to digital.

loads of noise, when plugged to a speaker. The machine is reading the type so slow right now, it just been 6 months. No, that is not a good tape player

Happy that I purchased the Arsvita cassette player. In addition to playing cassettes, it's an AM/FM radio, and acts as a recorder and highly recommend it! The fact that I can play my old cassettes, install a microSD card, and have the player convert the cassette to a MP3 file auto-magically is a huge bonus. Next, I remove the storage card and edit/trim the MP3 in various software applications. The sound quality is excellent and the radio is really a great addition. Like a throwback of days gone by.With that said, here are a few additions that I would like to see in future updates to the player:-- When the cassette gets to the end, the player doesn't stop, which can drain the battery quickly if you are not monitoring it-- It would be nice if there was a battery level indicator, so you have an idea of battery drainage-- Not sure why the USB cable can't be plugged in while playing the cassette. The player will not work when external power is used. I wanted to do this to save the batteries.Aside from my wishlist above, overall this player is a great buy! I saved more than $60 compared to another brand that I was considering. Just buy the darn thing and save money! Signed Happy Customer!

I bought the Arsvita player/recorder for two main purposes: (1) to listen to language-learning tapes and (2) to transfer audio cassettes to digital. I have had the machine just two days now and have transferred several tapes and listened to a few language lessons. I am very happy with this device for both purposes. Of course, since it is small and not stereo the depth of sound is not comparable to larger expensive systems, but for my purposes this does not matter. The device is compact, nice looking, and its buttons are all easily understood. I might mention that on my device I have three settings: radio, sd, and tape/off. The instructions that come with it refer to radio, tf, and tape/off, which puzzles me, but in effect sd and tf seem to be the same thing.Here are a few tips about using this machine that would have saved me time, money, and frustration:1. Be sure to get a micro-sd card of 32 GB or less. Larger capacity cards will not work. (The instructions that come with the machine do not tell you this. I only found out by reading through the Amazon customer questions about the device – AFTER I had spent $60 nonrefundable for a 128 GB card.)2. When you are removing the sd card from the Arsvita machine, be very careful to keep your finger firmly on the card as it comes out. If you don’t, as I have already learned more than once, the card will eject with great vigor and fly across the room. (Yes, trust me, it will!) Since it is a micro-card, it is, well, MICRO, and quite difficult to find if you don’t see where it went.3. In my brief experience with this device, I have found that Arsvita customer service is excellent. Late last night I sent them an email asking why I could not get the machine to copy cassette to digital. Early this morning I received a full and thorough response giving several reasons why I might be having trouble. This included the specification that I needed no more than a 32 GB card. (Again, I wish this had been specified in the instructions.) They also told me that if I followed their instructions and the device still would not transfer cassette to digital, they would replace the machine.So, overall, in spite of a problem about the sd card, I am quite happy with the machine and the company. I will give them 4 stars in hopes that they might improve the instruction sheet. It would have saved me $60!
