Ordered 2 of these filters for my 125g tank. Need lots of filtration and water movement for cichlids. Very happy with them. One of the filters stopped working after 9 days. Seller sent replacement out right away and arrived the very next day. Very happy with the product and seller.

Water cleared up quick, turtle loves the rainfall mode! For those that are having issues on it working? Try submerging the whole thing until it starts shooting out water. Water has to be inside the whole thing before it catches... then you can position it where ever you'd like.

It was very loud and made a rumbling noise after 3 months and it quickly gave out. It also did not work well before giving out.

Pros: very strong, will clear your water quickly (using the aeration function). Not really loud, although sometimes I can hear it, usually prior to cleaning. Be prepared to catch debris that will fall out of bottom basket when you turn it off for cleaning (I use a net, I saw another post about a solo cup). I think this would work well for a smaller tank although IDK about the effectiveness of it long term w/only sponge filters (I would research that, I am using with other filters in a large tank). It is long. Strong water movement (IDK on the waterfall setting, not using that).IDK if this item has longevity or not yet. Have had it about a month.Cons: (let me preface this by saying this was brought in for extra aeration on a 75 gallon freshwater tank, during a fish emergency, where there are a more large fish living together until a new second tank is set up). In this situation where I have a tank filter and a HOB filter, this filter is for extra aeration but due to its power (good or bad) and its intake being very close to the substrate, I think it is acting like a "first line of defense", taking in larger particles, etc, before they get to the other intakes. I have to clean this filter every 3 days or it stops working. As you can see in the photo, the 2 top sponges get sucked up towards the grated barrier before the impeller and then water/air stops coming out. ( I have it set closer to MIN on the strength dial and those plants have nothing to do with how it functions). Maybe in a smaller tank with less giant fish (not pictured) it wouldn't do that, but 3 grades of sponge vs. a coarse material, charcoal and a sponge for filtration seems odd to me, and over time in this situation, the sponges get sucked upwards. (I will note that when I go to clean it all, the impeller isn't dirty, so they block that, good or bad.)The rotating/clicking of each section to take it apart/put back together is annoying and sometimes I have to have another person with better grip do it. Eventually it will probably break from this activity. But for the price...maybe ok..I haven't priced out replacing sponges yet.Keep it submerged.I did not use it parallel or with "fountain" attachment or as a pump-out.

The filter works great for the price, could be a tad quieter but then I would have to pay more so its always a give and take. Have it in our 125 gallon tank and it works well.

It seems to be a good filter & I liked how there wasn't anything to truly replace. You could rinse things off AND the spinny bit came out so you could finally/actually clean that area too. However the filter was SO LOUD. Downstairs my husband asked "What's that noise?" ... it was the filter. If you can stand the humming, this seems to be a good filter. Unfortunately we couldn't & are returning it.

Used this for a few weeks and the power is pretty good but I recommend only using on a bare bottom tank unless your tank is over 20 inches tall so much sand Got sucked in the bottom and clogged filter multiple timesCould only find the filter sponges on the American AmazonNot terrible to clean, but the adjustable water flow mechanism always got really stuck and hard to adjustBigger than I thought but decent water output
