Couldn’t get ahead of the algae bloom in my 65 gallon tank, huge improvement after just 24 hours and a water change with this filter!

Power head was too strong for my aquarium so I contacted the UV part to my filter system, perfect fit.

I recently purchased a UV filter for my aquarium, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Within just three days, the water went from cloudy to crystal clear. It was incredible to see how quickly and effectively it worked. My fish seem healthier, and the overall appearance of the tank is much more vibrant now. The setup was straightforward, and the filter runs quietly, which is a huge plus. I highly recommend this UV filter to anyone struggling with cloudy water or algae issues—it's a total game changer!

So initially I installed this in my son's 10 gallon fish tank. It had WAY too powerful filtration...if you look it has a 10 watt pump which is in the range of 200gph filtration. So I took it out and went back to the hang on the tank filter. With 2 goldfish and 2 minnows in a 10 gallon tank, I eventually had an algae problem. I was replacing HOB filters clogged with algae every couple days and the water was still murky and algae out of control!I really didn't want to resort to chemical algecide on account of a fish kill incident early on in my learning about fish tanks. So I adapted some irrigation hose to make a diffuser for this pump's output and removed the sponge inlet filter (not recommended) just to see if the UV could help.I had it on for about 1/2 hour, and the fish were constantly freaking out. Also, I noticed the water had become more cloudy with lots of micro bubbles (Ozone?). I turned it off to calms the fish and just went back to depending on the HOB filter.Well, that was Friday, and watching the tank over the past couple days wondering what to do it has progressively gotten clearer like magic. Today (Sunday night) the water is crystal clear!!I think that in the 1/2 hour this filter ran, the UV light directly sterilized or added enough Ozone to completely kill the algae. Amazing! So for the videos that show how clear it gets over a few days.....it MIGHT actually do that even if it only runs for a little bit on day 1..... the rest may be overkill....in any case, extremely effective.

I have to take it apart and clean the filter every 10 days or flow is reduced enough that the bubbles stop. But, the tank is clear and clean!

They pumpbworks great at a pump it's self but the UV light is going out often. We are replacing 4th one in less the year. We don't keep on all the time either less then 50% of the time. They are not too bad to clean and put back together once you get hang of it. Don't recommend for tiny fish small frogs as the get sucked into it. My big angel fish like to lay eggs on it. Easy to set up and nice to control about of air. The pump has lasted almost a year and going strong. I just bought 2 more for another tank. If you have bubble bars they may suck in bubbles and make tank took bubbly but we just moved bubble bars away from it and it's great. Only complaint is the UV light after 8 months of owning it. Noise level depends on how much air you allow in I don't notice it unless lots of air

Out of the blue, my tank turned completely green. Emptied it scrubbed everything filled it up, three days later green. Did some research. Read the reviews and bought this filter. The first one came with the bulb, not functioning. Not surprising since it’s packed in a regular Printed box, but then was thrown in an envelope mailer to be delivered. Packaging would’ve saved it. However the second one, the company was kind enough to send a replacement, worked like magic! I swear I saw a difference the following morning, and as the week went on it got clearer and clearer. Now my water is so clear. It looks like no water in there like it’s just glass. This is an excellent filter. I highly recommend.

I had a previous version of this and bought a second so called improved. The UV light is difficult to get in place, the bottom of it, which you are blindly putting in, and has to be exactly in the right spot. The sponge filter will need regular cleaning so clumsiness of this is a regular inconvenience. The friction fit of the top to the bottom means you will need to carefully arrange this in the tank or the bottom could fall off? The inlet for the air hose is again a friction fit, and so loose it does not stay in place. And lastly, the air hose they provided is so flimsy it's got kinks, and pinches in it even from shipping. It was frustrating to put together so from an ongoing maintenance point of view it's just not usable IMHO.

I have a 45 tall and hate the over the side filters. They’re so loud and I hate the sound of splashing water so I caved and got this one. This thing is super strong. It will be okay for my tank because there’s just guppies, but there’s lots of water movement. Plan accordingly. Even changing if it’s on the length or width side didn’t do anything. It’s just so powerful. I’m going to need to make a water break or something just so there’s some calm area. It’s pretty quiet but I added the bubbler and that’s what’s loud. Apparently it doesn’t pull in the air at a constant speed so it “crackles.” I’ll probably remove that part if it continues to be loud. It’s been 2 hours and my tank is still dirty but there’s so much water movement now so it’s probably just kicking up everything that was settled. The instructions do say it can take a week to clear completely. I’m giving it a chance but if its not better in a week then I will update.
