But this to recirculate ice water through a wort chiller in a 16 gallon cooler. Very quiet and moves the water quickly. Do NOT let this run dry. Submerge it in water BEFORE plugging it in.

But, I bought this pump because it would run out of the water. Yes it will but not long. I need a pump that is not submersible. I assumed this was it. WRONG. So I dropped it in the pond and plumbed it in. This is replacing a 480gph pump. 1200gph is a real stretch. It is not much better than my 480gph. I used 1" tubing due to my expectation that I would have a terrific waterfall. Well, that didn't happen. You might try a different pump, just not this one.

First it didn’t come with all the adaptors it says it does. After making a special trip to find fittings at the hardware store it worked great. Used infrequently. After about 6-7 total hours of use, the water quit flowing. No shortage of water and no restrictions, still not pumping water.My wife picked one up for less than half the price at Harbor Freight. I’ll be returning this very defective pump!

This is the third pump I've had to order from Amazon. If you have a six foot waterfall fountain, this is the pump you need. Adjustable flow and very quiet. Power is perfect. The other two were way too powerful for my needs.
