I have the small version of this on my 5 gallon and liked how it worked so bought the large version for my 15 gallon tank. I probably could have gotten away with the medium sized one but went with the large one for more bio media space. I took out the carbon filter floss pads and put in course black sponge in the front, I then took out the included black course sponge and replaced that area with filter floss and then in the extra space I had saved added extra bio media since I am running planted tanks. On low flow I suggest adding an air pump to the air intake line which I like since adding air into the tank. I like the adjustability of the flow since I have one on a betta tank and one on a shrimp tank and want it to be low flow in the tank. Also the fact of not having to have an air stone line going thru my tank is a bonus and less agitation for the habitants while having just enough motion on surface so no film builds up. As mentioned I have two of these now and like how they can be modified and are baby fish and shrimp friendly and won't get sucked in. My last suggestion if you get this product is to buy some silicone food grade grease for the impeller. It runs quiet without it but I do that to all impellers in all items for longevity and quietness. Very happy with this product. :)

I beleive this is a really good filter. when I added my batenna leaves in the water, my water turned brown. I did not have my carbon filter in (white filter) the power filter. When I added the carbon filter, my tank water went from a dark brown to a light brown. The filter does work and it is quite when it is not experiencing any issues. Here are somethings I figured you should know before buying:If your water level in your tank is lower than the required water lever line = The filter will make noiseSolution: Add more water or push the filter down.If your filter makes noise and it is not because of your water level = Then it could be cloggedIf you have an overgrowth of bacteria, they could clog your filter. In this case, I would suggest using the cleaning brush that came with it to unclog it.If you are using the clear long tub for airflow, be mind findful when you attach it to the filer before the filter is on. I would have the long clear tube attached and the filter off because I was cleaning it. When I turned the filter back on, it would fill up with water and leak out onto my floor. A solution that worked for me is adding the long clear tube after the filter has turned on. Also, make sure it is standing vertically so it does not fill up with water.I bought this in May of last year and experienced no technical problems besides what I have mentioned above. I hope this helps.

I have 2 of these and love them I'm ordering a third one the biggest I'll have 3 in a 40 gallon tank. You have to clean the filters out one a week because they clean so well . I use white pillow stuffing and reusable fish filters. I have a turtle in my tank and they are amazing. Use an air pump for more bubbles 🫧 that did stop but the pump fixed that my tank has micro bubbles through my hole 40 gallon tank . ❤️❤️❤️ I'm super happy with them. I'll have all 3 sizes and my 40 gallon turtle tank. If the filter gets dirty fast it's doing it job. My water stays Chrystal clear all the time. I do water changes every two weeks and once clean filter stuffing . Easy peezy...

Great pump. Was putting oxygen (air) back into the water just fine. The second night I guess it decided not to work that way anymore. I woke up and it was pumping water out onto the floor. Still using it but the tube is emptying into the aquarium not onto my floor. Downside there is no oxygen going into it.

I am using this in a 10 gallon holding tank for new small goldfishAt first the pump worked very well and was relatively quiet. Today is only day 3 of use and already the pump sounds noisier. The order of filter media is backwards to my previous 40 years of filters, with the 1st intake media behind the grill possibly too dense and blocking up very quickly, followed 2nd by a coarse foam block and the 3rd last stage the ceramic rings that allow for good bacteria growth.

I have a 10 gal tank and have used many different filters over the years. Underground, side holders. Never had a submerse type. Seeing the waterfall option looked interesting, so bought it to see. Great price. I love it!! It was easy to set up, suction is strong. The waterfall is quiet and quiet pretty. The fish are not disturbed by it at all. My water has been crystal clear. The filter needed changed after a couple weeks, which was super easy to doI highly recommend this filter/pump.

I purchased this aquarium filter when the large internal filter I had stopped working. The old one was essentially noiseless. When putting this pump together and installing it, it took much longer than anticipated due to the need to continuously troubleshoot why it was making so much noise. The filter itself hums loudly and the sucking sound that comes through the spray nozzle is obnoxious. No matter what I did I could not get this filter to quiet down.I disassembled it. Put it back together. Followed each step in the setup instructions meticulously. The one good thing about this filter is that it gets the job done. The water in the tank had become quite cloudy due to the malfunctioning of the old pump. I didn't want to run this new pump because of the noise but I didn't want to wait for another filter to arrive either because of the water quality. After 2 days and a filter change, the water looks great.Unfortunately, I will not be using this filter for the long term. I am writing this from the other side of the house and can still hear it.

Hello everyone.A week ago I decided to purchase a 10 gallon aquarium from a certain Pet store(starts with P ends with S)And got the Bubble Wall 10 Gallon kit.I knew right away the Top fin filter was going to be terrible,so I wanted to look for a replacement. The tanks lid has no opening for a HOB filter. So I had to look for a fully submersible filter instead. The Fluval U2 was too big for a 10 gallon.took up at least 30% of the aquarium space. And getting the next size down(U1)did not have the 3 stage filtration I was looking for (carbon, ceramic rings, sponge).I searched Amazon up and down for a Submersible filter that has the 3 stage filtration and was a decent size to fit in a 10 gallon and not be bulky.Very hard to find I learned. Then I came upon this listing for this filter! And Yes! The medium (10-20g) fits my tank perfectly without being bulky.I could've easily brought the smaller size, but I wanted that extra power because my tank will be home to Molly fish; and they are poop specialists. The actual size of the Medium is 7 inches long(not including the water controls/air bubbler extension at the top of the filter). And it's about 3.5 wide and it's about 3 inches in depth. In my photo you can see I can easily hide it behind tank plants and it's not in the way at all.I have a 25 watt heater hiding next to it on the side.So far I Love it! I have no complaints :)Update 6/9/22: Filter still going strong with 8 fish in tank! Keeps water healthy & clear.Posted with updated photo
