AprilAire introduced the first evaporative humidifier for forced air furnace systems back in 1954. Since that time, AprilAire continues to lead the industry in whole home humidification systems. Our evaporative humidifiers work by piping water into the distribution tray located at the top of the humidifier. The water is uniformly distributed across the width of the tray and through a scientifically designed system of outlets. It flows by gravity over the Water Panel evaporator. Dry, hot air from the HVAC system is moved through the moisture-laden Water Panel evaporator. Natural evaporation takes place, meaning the water is turned to vapor, and the humidified air is circulated throughout your home.

Exactly what I needed to install the April Aire 700 series into my existing hot air furnace. Read the directions carefully when installing the current sensing relay. You may need a bit of trial and error to make the relay work reliably with your blower motor wire.

My guy took really long installing this because we had to run an extra long hose from the garage to the attic in one of the bedrooms. The way things are in this home is different and not very convenient. Have been using it for about 2 weeks now.

This kit is a timesaver if you are looking to install your own humidifier.I am a "handy guy" and can do my own work but this was a little more daunting - cutting a breadbox-sized hole in one's cold air return plenum is a bit...harrowing.But, using the proper tools, safety gear, and taking my time with measurements and cuts, I succeeded in installing the body humidifier with relative ease. The current-sensing relay isn't well described in function: what it does is detects when your furnace blower fan starts by sensing the current in the neutral wire of the fan's furnace connection. The relay must be kept away from other magnetic fields and metal. I find it was easy enough to mount out of the way of mechanicals. The wiring given isn't quite enough for my needs. Get another 25 or 50 feet of wiring for anything beyond humidifier to transformer to relay wiring. The water tubing was much more than I needed. The provided hardware was of excellent quality.

Plastic water line will cause compression fitting to twist and leak EVERY TIME because the plastic line is softer than copper. I've gone through a handful of compression rings. I gave up. Buying copper. Do NOT Buy this overpriced garbage kit.UPDATE: since Amazon does not allow returns once you use any portion of this kit, I contacted AprilAire. I felt I deserve a little compensation. They told me, "We didn't sell it so we don't give any compensation or returns.". Basically, they do not guarantee their kit in any way. Total disregard for quality or customer satisfaction. I'll never buy another AprilAire product.

This kit comes with a Current Sensing Relay and 18/5 wire I did not need for my installation. The installation instructions that came with my humidifier comes with several options and I carefully followed one of the recommendations. The kit also includes plastic tube for the water feed. Although the tube is rated for up to 160F, the instructions on the saddle valve that comes with the humidifier specifically says not to use plastic tubing. I went with copper just to be sure but do suspect the plastic in the kit would be fine. By buying just what I needed, I saved over 1/2 the cost of the kit.

I ordered this manufacturer kit for my Aprilaire 700M. However, the included PEX supply line would not connect to the Aprilaire, using the parts included, without leaking. Because the connection to the valve is so deep, the line deforms, the compression ring twists, and then it leaks. I went through 3 compression rings, before giving up and buying 1/4" copper tubing. I wish I had just started with copper, it would have saved me 2 hours and an extra trip to the hardware store. At any rate, this kit is ridiculously over-priced. It's a disappointing offering from an otherwise solid company.
