When no drain pipe is available, AprilAire's Condensate Pump, Model 4856, is designed to automatically remove the condensate water that collects from appliances such as air conditioners, high-efficiency furnaces, humidifiers and dehumidifiers. It has a built-in 0.33 gallon reservoir, and when a sufficient condensate level is reached it switches on and pumps the water to a remote location for disposal. With a maximum vertical lift of 22 feet, this low profile pump is a good fit for installations where space is at a premium. Rate of condensate removal is related to length of lift. Maximum flow rate of approximately 120 GPH (gallons per hour) can be achieved at around 3.4 feet of lift, with an approximate 5 GPH flow rate at 22 feet of lift. Make sure the flow rate exceeds the application usage rate by at least 50%. Always maintain a constant downward slope from the HVAC equipment to the condensate pump. Convenient Green/Amber/Red indicator lights let you see at a glance when the pump is powered and ready, running and removing condensate, or shut off/disabled. Model 4856 includes 20 feet of 3/8 inch clear vinyl drain tubing. This pump is UL listed and also features vibration dampening feet and motor mounts, metal hang tabs, four inlet holes with three poly covers for the unused holes, float switch, and a plug protector. Duckbill-style check valve prevents water from flowing back into tank when pump shuts off. Pump is also equipped with a switch that activates when water in tank reaches an overflow condition. The overflow safety switch may be connected to turn off the appliance if high water condition occurs. Dimensions: 11.8 inches L x 5.9 inches W x 4.9 inches H, and 5 pounds. Two year warranty.

I have an AprilAire dehumidifier in my crawlspace that drains by gravity into a sump pump pit. Unfortunately the pit is about 6-8 feet away with some uneven ground in between and the drain hose get a bit brittle over time and causes the water in the drain hose to back up a bit which then trips a sensor that shuts off the dehumidifier. This pump is exactly what I needed to solve this problem and also included the wiring to shut off the dehumidifier should the pump malfunction.
