Not pleased with the packaging of the 42 oz plastic bags. In the future, if I can't find "Fragrance Free" Damp Rid for refill in the 7.5# hard plastic bottles again, I'll probably buy a different unscented brand of calcium chloride crystals. In the past I've purchased two of the 7.5# refill plastic bottles (240 oz). But, autumn 2022, couldn't find the 7.5# refill bottles available (order cancelled), so purchased six 42 ounce bags (252 oz). The six bags cost more, but did contain 12 ounces more. The Damp Rid in the brand new plastic bags contained some BIG, HARD CLUMPS that I couldn't break apart. (I opened the six sealed bags one at a time and refilled clean and dry tubs all within one short session.) With the hard plastic bottles of refill, there were NEVER any clumps.I don't know if the hard clumps will work to absorb moisture, but suspect the hard clumps mean the crystals had already begun to absorb moisture either inside the sealed plastic bags, or before the crystals were even bagged at the manufacturer, which is disappointing. If the crystals are already partially used, they will not last as long. Also, the big clumps certainly made it hard to fill the 10.5 oz tubs.I live in the Southwest and use 22 Damp Rid tubs (10.5oz @). After the crystals are dissolved, I pour the liquid from the refillable tubs into a big bucket to see how much moisture the tubs collected. Each time the liquid totals about 2 1/2 gallons! I can't imagine the mildew and mold that could have formed if I didn't use moisture absorbers.Of Damp Rid products, I will ONLY buy "Fragrance Free" after one time inadvertently buying Damp Rid with a scent. The so-called "Fresh Scent" filled the air with an artificial, cloying smell that was disgusting. We threw away the scented Damp Rid.

3 bags wrapped together in plastic in case a bag pops from shipping. Item works as expected. I like that it doesn't add an extra smell to room as I am super sensitive to smells. Would/will buy again.

Florida is a swamp and any room without air that moves, like closets and bathrooms, get a funky smell. I have a sensitive nose and this state has some serious stink issues. I have these everywhere in the house and they keep that damp, swampy smell away. The refillable ones are best because the hanging units, although they are excellent, are expensive and don't even last a month before completely filling with water.
