Toilet makers, which are many, have many different models with many different flappers. Amazon does not do well in dealing with this type of item. It "seemed" to be listed as the part for my model American Standard toilet, but it was the wrong part. Moral of the story is, for DIY plumbers, get the part number off the existing flapper and order that from a plumbing supply website. Yes, that involves draining the tank (not hard), pulling off the old one so you can read the part number, then reinstalling it until your new one comes.

Nothing worked great

Tried a one size fits all 1st. It required tuning and didn’t perform as the OEM. This fit in place and worked with no adjustments.

It worked great for about 34 months then it started passing water. I took out the flapper valve to find the gasket with tiny perpendicular cracks it it right in the ring/surface area where it seals.Rather than buying a new valve, I went back to the big box store and bought a seal that looked like what I needed and so far, three days in, it's holding up.The three stars because of how soon the gasket deteriorated

This replacement for the original flapper on my Cadet 3 American Standard is slightly wider than the original at the "ears."As a result, in order to force it on, the plastic flapper distorts just a little - but enough to allow leakage down into the bowl.Tossed in garbage.

Was exactly what I needed and worked perfect. Easy to install, even for me!
