I rarely if ever buy an Amazon product that does not have two things: hundreds if not thousands of positive reviews, and 4.5 starts and above. This only had a 130ish reviews so took a gamble. Paid off! This is perfect. Very heavy duty, dense rubber that lays flat right out of the roll. No cupping. Has a nice grippy texture, and very durable. I’m using in my woodworking shop as a lay down mat on my outfeed table that I also use for assembly. I wanted something very dense and durable first, given casework and plywood impact, and not overly textured. This is perfect. It would also be a gym mat and great for heavy weights, but not as soft as my gym mats that have more cushion for body work and stretching. So, if you want something durable and flat, this is it. It is a quality mat for sure but it stinks to high heck for my sensitive nose. My spouse doesn’t smell it! I’ve had it 2+ months, left it on the patio for a month and I can still smell it and cannot stay in the same room with it for long. Did some research on uTube and it’s recommended to purchase this during the hot summer months, leave it outside and the sun will back off the chemical smells into the outside air. 7 months until summer again! I recommend making this purchase to arrive during the heat of summer if u have sensitive nose. UTube also recommends some cleaning products to help alleviate the odors. The mat is really a good one.

Review for the Product:I ordered two of the 3/4-inch thick 4x8 mats for an indoor gym that I sectioned out of my bedroom. I was concerned about the dreaded odour, especially since I would be sleeping in the same room as the mats, but read enough reviews about American Floor Mats and decided to buy. They had the product (thickness, size, colour) that I wanted, and they arrived within the anticipated lead time as listed. The mats themselves had the slightest length variant from the listed 6 feet, but they were identical to each other, which mattered more for my use. Moving the +80 pound mats in place was like watching a Three Stooges skit. Mind you, I was the only stooge moving them, so everything went as well as could be expected.Review for Customer Service:After going through the logistics of cleaning, measuring, airing out, cutting, and installing, I noticed minor dimpling on a few spots of one of the mats. I photographed and contacted the seller asking for advice on how to seal them to prevent further flaking. To my surprise, the support team said they checked with the production team, and they decided they would send me new mats. As far as I am concerned, everyone went above and beyond in customer service and I appreciate their communication and support.

Material is dense and heavy. I purchased this mat to protect my laminate floors (layered above concrete) during deadlifts. Definitely reduces impact to floor as well as noise to some degree. Bumper plates do not bounce off it easily, which is a definite plus. The coarseness of the material provides good grip for feet and does provide some additional friction to reduce the chance of plates rolling. The 4' x 8' size is perfect for DLs with a standard size bar (I use a 40lb Rogue Ohio Bar), which does not overhang. 10% Red color is pretty cool too. Would recommend product to a friend.
