I've been using Amana and Whiteside for years. They last a long time, when used correctly, and cut just about any material that's not metal or stone.I'll always recommend these brands.

I needed a bit to cut mahogany and leave small rounded corners. This bit worked well. This bit cut the wood cleanly without worrying about it breaking.

Works perfectly in my porter cable 552 pocket cutter machine. I immediately ordered another one after drilling 3 pocket holes to have one as a backup. If you have this machine or a similar one like the castle you definitely need this bit for the price. Thanks Amana for another high quality bit!!

This is the third Amana router bit that I’ve bought over the years, and all were flawless. It’s hard to compare how long the steel blade lasts, but I’ve already put a several hours of usage on it and it’s cutting just as good as it was when I first pulled it out of the box…cutting has been on framing lumber so softwoods with plenty of knots. The one thing of note is that the base of this bit appears to be longer than normal, likely due to its longer cutting length. On the router that I’m using, the bit is all the way down in the collet and there is still nearly a 1/4 of an inch protruding before the insert line. Since the bit isn’t inserted as far as Amana wants, I’ve been careful with the bit and only cutting 1/2 inch of material at a time. While the router bit is nice and of good quality, it’s hard to get over the price which is like 2-3 time what other bits cost. However, as in all three of my Amana bit purchases, no one else made that particular bit that was able to be bought without a really long lead time (like a month +). Amana, good quality but you really pay for it.

Solid piece, well machined but the plastic bag it came in, won't protect the edges after first use. Cheaper blades come in better storage holders. Can't rate Longevity as I've only used it once.

Super sharp, super clean, this cuts plywood unbelievably QUIETLY on our Shopbot Alpha CNC. Edges are flawless, allowed us to run the machine at it's upper limit of cutting speed. Clean chip. Great piece of cutting engineering, and much better than the 2 flute version. We seriously had to keep checking to see if the machines were running - it was that much quieter than standard 2 flute and compression bits.

Bought a larger size Amana bit for routing out templates, and it worked beautifully so I figured I'd try the smaller one for more techincal pockets. Works amazing. You will not be disappointed with this bit. Cuts through hard wood very clean. Will warn though, if you've never routed before, may get some chipout because the edge on this bit is incredibly sharp.

This bit is one of the best for plunge routers. I use it to route channels in side-boards for shelving in custom built-in cabinetry and shelving which I prefer to a dado. It lasts forever. It doesn't wobble thanks to the 1/2" shank. The carbide teeth wont break off. The carbide teeth are also actually fairly easy to sharpen since it's just a straight bit.Since there is no way to attach a bearing guide, it is not good for flush cuts, only plunge cuts.Hope that helps.
