We use this in a dado router setup and they are direct replacements to the ones we have. Worked as expected. Arrived new in OEM packaging.

These are hard to find, but this is it. I build things out of nominal 5/4" PVC trimboard, which is 15/16" thick. This bit is perfect for making slots in the stuff to make joints. This stuff glues much stronger than wood, so you can make things with just glue and no fasteners.I don't know the actual dimensions of nominal 5/4" wood, but if it's also 15/16" this bit would be good for that also.

Literally used on pressure treated and got through 20’ at 7/8” deep. Broke on a knot and was burning up…. This was my backup bit. Last time I trust a new brand as a backup.Must say one of the worst bits I have used. Spend the extra money and go with another brand. Used on a triton router half inch shank.

I finally got my workbench set up to use this big router bit. I used it in my 3.0hp Makita bought in 1987. I used a jig riding on rails I chose for flatness. I took about 1/8 inch of thickness off with each pass, and it took 3 passes to complete the task. It is a sharp tool, and cut a nice flat surface with minimal vibration. After minimal sanding, I finished the top with several coats of boiled linseed oil.

I'll admit, I hadn't thought much about how bits are balanced until now. I've got a dedicated seat carving jig with an old garage-sale 3.25hp Porter Cable router with bearings that are just about to go. Lots of other large bits I've used in this thing create a pretty scary vibration. But, when I put this Amana bit in and fired it up, it was smooth and quiet... the bearings were hardly whining at all... very impressive considering how much steel is being hurled around. And, my router isn't a variable speed model... it's set at 21,000rpm (the bit is rated at 23,000 max. IIRC). I powered through 8 seats with a clean finish and zero tear out... very happy with this purchase!

Read an article by Nick Offerman in his use of a homemade router sled. He mentioned this bit as what he uses for his work. I built a 8-foot 2x4 butcher block workbench and needed to flatten the top. Plugged this in and went to town. Cut through kiln-dried Douglas fir like butter. Planed down both sides by about 1/4 in (48 sq ft total) and the bit seems as sharp as when I began the project. It I ever push this bit to the point it needs to be replaced, I'll be coming right back to Amana to get another 45453 bit.

This is the bit that Nick Offerman uses in his article Level Big Slabs in No Time Flat, [...]I'm using this bit to level a dried slab of Elm, and it's been fantastic on the Bosch 2.25hp router.Unfortunately, you'll have to take this review with a grain of salt because it's my first time using this type of bit, and leveling a slab. But from what I've experience, this has been great making 1/16" passes. Note that the image does not reflect the visual dimensions of bit. And it comes nested in foam, boxed in a clear plastic sleeve.

Works great. Very smooth finish. I used it to flatten a large slab for a table top. Take it very easy with this bit. It is big and thus carries a lot of inertia. Be very careful as the energy of this big bit is much more than one might expect. So if it snags something the router can get away from you. (This happened to me.) Also be careful not to get your fingers close to the top of the router bit. It is much closer to the outside of the router than my usual much narrower bits. )I did not get "bit" on this thank goodness.)

Used it for flattening the top of my workbench with a router / sled. Worked great and left a smooth surface. Would recommend this bit.
