First the negative, the does not work for my free standing woodstove. I had to try and make it work but the rod snapped at the threads. The system was meant for a larger and more open fire place instead of a wood burning stove so it may not be a terrible system.

A huge improvement over the portable stand type of screens. I had to mount this onto the metal crossbar that, I think, most fireplaces have. This required a good sharp drill bit to get though the metal, then a concrete bit to go an inch or so into the concrete. I used, and reccomend, a wedge anchor fastener/bolt (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HQL8N5T?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title) to attach the screen. Kinda a lot of work but worth it. Would be 5 stars if the screen cross piece was a thicker metal.
