My old ash door broke after 20 years . I think I got my money's worth , lol , So , I needed another one . Found this one after doing all of my measurements and it fits perfect . Well built and durable . Highly recommend !!

The product is of very good quality, but I had to grind down the center tabs under the frame to make it fit into the cutout in the base of my fireplace. I have air tools at my disposal, so it was easy to modify but if you have no tools you will need to measure the opening precisely before purchasing. Definitely recommend for the quality of metal and paint finish.

Fit our ash hole perfectly. My only complaint is that the lid is loose, not attached to it's frame. If you're not careful, it can fall through into your ash hole. I generally just take the lid/door of when sweeping ahes into the dump to prevent this from happening. Despite this flaw, it's still an excellent deal for a nice heavy iron ash hole cover.
