Maintaining proper indoor humidity and temperature has important benefits to your health, comfort, home, and possessions. Low humidity can lead to dry air symptoms like skin irritation, itchy eyes, nasal problems, and illness. It can also damage hardwood floors, moldings, and valuables like musical instruments. High humidity can promote the growth of mold, bacteria, viruses, fungi, dust mites, and other asthma inducing agents. The AcuRite digital temperature & humidity monitor empowers you to check comfort conditions at a glance, and take action when your indoor environment needs adjustment. Powered by 1 AA alkaline battery (not included). it's more than accurate, it's AcuRite.

Awesome to have, would highly recommend! It really helps to tell the temp ESP when your temp likes higher ones, and you have kids you have to make sure are comfy. I can tolerate 86 well while my son doesn't much like over 72 he is a warm blooded kid. So it's helpful. Also, with a fieldstone foundation it's necessary to keep the health of the whole home, I bought 4!

Seems to work fairly well. Got a two pack and they don't quite agree with each other on readings sitting side by side, one 2° different temperature than the other no matter where they are placed, 5% different humidity readings. Still, consistently so, so seems to have good precision if not accuracy.

I now have four of these in different rooms of my house. Then I regulate the central thermostat to the desired temperature range for the room where the thermostat is located. I then manually adjust the registers in each room to reduce or increase the air flow so that the desired temperature for that room is obtained. These monitors are also great for monitoring humidity levels. I can adjust the water flow into my central humidifier (attached to the furnace) in the winter to keep adequate moisture (about 40% humidity in my case) in the air. In the summer, I set my two dehumidifiers (one for each level in my house) at the desired humidity (50% in my case).I also put one in my mother's room at her assisted living facility. This helped me to alert the caregivers and building operations manager when the temperature became too hot or too cold. I also was able to alert the ops manager last week when the humidity level had fallen too low (27%). He has notified his corporate contact and they are now working on getting a humidifier for the furnace.

Superb basic tools. It should be obvious that, at this price, these are not laboratory instruments. However, my two agree with each other, and their temp readings agree with my other home thermometer. It may be luck, but it is good enough that I just ordered two more. I like having the humidity and temp, having the high/low, and that these don't have a clock or calendar or other irrelevant gadget. Simple and adequate.

This monitor does a good job! We would easily buy them again. The Good:--They seem to be quite accurate and consistent--Display is easy and clear to read--The unit is versatile to display (either by magnetic back for vertical metal or with a "kick-out" like a picture frame on flat surfaces)--It records the low/high temp and humidity over 36 hoursThe Bad:--This is a MILD complaint, but it would be great to keep the high/low over a week instead of 36 hours.Clarification: some reviews are saying it keeps the low/high for 24 hours, but that is not accurate. According to the manufacturer, it updates the low/high every 12 hours for 36 hours...so if it's been running for at least 36 hours, you will see the low/high over the past 36 hours continually. It updates every 12 hours from the moment it is turned on. So if you turn it on (a.k.a. insert batteries) at 5am, it will update the low/highs at 5pm, then again at 5am the next day, and 5pm the next day, and so on.

These were purchased to check humidity in a couple of areas we have lots of books stored in. I have a large wall-type unit with temp, pressure, humidity gauges, plus a indoor/outdoor digital unit from LaCross. These units are accurate, matching exactly with my office units when in the same room. So, I know that where I place them, I am getting accurate humidity and temperature readings. And, unlike most temp/humidity units, the humidity is the large number on top, making it easy to read at a glance. The humidity gauge is very fast, stabilizing in just a few seconds when moved from one area to another. If you are using dehumidifiers in any part of your home or business, this is a great addition to help control humidity and monitor the use of the dehumidifiers to control energy costs. For those who are interested, the units also store and display min/max values for both humidity and temperature. The units were shipped quickly and well packaged. They use a standard AA battery, which should last a long time between changes.

I had 2 of these monitors for a month now. They are not super accurate when compared to each other, there's at least 1F difference in indoor temperature and 3% difference in humidity when placed next to each other. I placed one of them on a fridge (using its magnet) inside my attached garage (temperature gets there up to 109F - Phoenix, AZ) and the monitor fell off the magnet in exactly 3 weeks. I guess the glue deteriorated in 100+ degrees temps pretty quickly.Since I only care about the temps, these units are ok for my purposes and 1+/- degree doesn't make much of a difference to me. They are good looking gadgets and will do for now, but my personal satisfaction level is not more than 3 stars. I'm in need of a couple of more monitors, I may buy the same ones, but I'll shop around again before I do.

These work Great. Very compact, has all the right information. The only downside is with the High's and Lows. The device only records those every 36hrs or so says the manual. This is probably so its always monitoring the Highs and Lows of a certain block of time. I wish this was configurable, and also showed when the high was recorded. Would be much more helpful.
