Easy to grip with arthritic fingers and wrists. The weight makes up for my painful grip when applying the blow to the nail or pin. Easy to store !

This 8oz claw hammer is really good for light duty, small projects or for crafting, the hammer is quite small and very lightweight, but it does feel well made and durable, the head of the hammer feels good and solid and it drives the nails into the wood fairly easy, the claw end also works well at removing the nails, all in all I am happy with this hammer and for the price I think it's a really good deal.

I love my new hammer. We have plenty big bulky and heavy hammers, but I wanted something more comfortable to use. This little hammer would be beneficial if you do not have much hand strength or maybe your young helper has small hands. It is almost as long as the heavy hammers, it does have a smaller head, but still big enough to tackle most jobs.I love how light it is and how it feels in my hand. I have way better control, and again an advantage to the beginner. My hammer has a perfect claw, thin enough to get under those pesky nail heads, yet small enough to slip into tight spaces. This is an excellent hammer, especially considering the low cost.I highly recommend this product.Five stars for an excellent product with quality.

It’s a hammer. It was cheap. Only complaint is the incredibly strong smell offgassing from the handle. I’ve had it sitting open in my house for over a week and I can still smell it when I get close.

I am a 70 year old, fiercely independent woman who will always TRY to do something myself. I live with the philosophy that many men have - the right tool for the job.Every hammer I have is pretty heavy duty, good for just about every big job you'd want a good hammer for. But sometimes I want/need a hammer that isn't so heavy, for a lighter job, and not so hard to hold on to and swing over and over. This met that need quite nicely. There's not a lot of "heft" to this hammer, but in my small hands the 8 oz weight feels good and solid. It looks and feels rugged enough for its intended use. It's not a good tool for hammering 3" nails into three layers of boards, but it sure is perfect for carpet tacks, wire brads, "U" shaped fasteners, tapping things that need a little coaxing to move - anything you need finesse with when using a hammer. I used it to pry a 2x4 off the garage wall, although I don't think it would be comfortable to use it for a big job of prying things like that. It's too lightweight for that kind of heavy use.It was not tiresome to use, and I have to confess I giggled a bit when using it. It's so CUTE! More and more manufacturers are making tools that women with small hands can use comfortably and when I come across one, I love telling everyone about it.But it's not so cute that it's not useful. It's fully capable of the smaller jobs and some mild heavy use, depending on what you classify as "heavy." I like it well enough that I now want to get the other three sizes. I think they would all be a good collection of hammers to have around. Right tool for the job, right?

Even though this was listed as a new hammer, it came out of the box with signs of long-term use such as cracks, dents, and glue stains all over the handle and hammerhead.

By "store" i'm referring to the low end hardware store that I think we all know of. You can't beat the price for what you're getting. Just bear in mind that this is a "Light Duty" hammer. I see a lot of guys (even on job sites) swing a 12-16oz where a 8oz could do just as well. If you're working a large project (like a housing track) where you're not using a brad nailer and have to use a light hammer, using something lighter will save you some ache and pain down the road. The big bonus is in the event you lose it or get jacked, you're only out $4. Plus, the odds of anyone else having this specific hammer on the job site are very low. So if you see someone with it, you know who took it. Then, that's when you bring out your big hammer!
