This is an extremely brittle product. If it gets stepped on, the spikes break into pieces. I realize it's not meant to be stepped on (except by small animals). But if you don't know it's there, accidents can happen. Also, I don't believe you can recycle it so when it's time to throw it out, you get to contribute to the plastic problem.

I have officially had these long enough that I can now leave a review. They have done great at keeping my cats out of the dirt in my plants. The other products I had tried did not do anything to deter my cats from getting in the dirt. Highly recommend these and will probably order more soon.

I love these! They can be connected together to protect young trees & plants from squirrels & most times moles. Squirrels are unable to dig, as well as cats & dogs. The only thing I’ve found to work for the squirrels. I use them inside if my cats begin to play in my plants & dig. The spikes are plastic, but pointed as well, so they shun them. I’ve even used them to prevent my dogs from urinating, etc on them outdoors. They very economical as well!

I have a window, AC unit, and my cats kept jumping on top of it. I was afraid the extra weight would cause it to fall out of the window or break the window itself. I didn’t know what to do until I found this cool cat scat mat. it makes my cats uncomfortable so they don’t want to lay on top of the AC anymore. But it’s also made of plastic so they didn’t cut their little paws when they first tried. This was a very good value for the money and a super useful product.

It took me a bit to figure out that the reason my PC was crashing was because one of my cats was sneaking on top of the PC tower to nap and enjoy the warmth. This prevents the PC from cooling properly, it overheats, and crashes.I installed three of these mats using zip ties. They don't block the PC's airflow, but the cat is really mad at me now since the mats DO block his fuzzy little self.Installation was super simple.

This works great to keep my cat out of my potted trees. He had a habit of digging in the dirt and this now prevents him from doing that. I just wish there were more metal spikes for holding the pieces down, I only had 15 in my box. I have other areas I would like to use but I have to acquire more metal spikes.

These were pretty easy to cut to the length and width that I needed. The cats have finally left my dang plants alone. 😉 So I've ordered another set to make sure that all my plants have them in the base.

I used this to try and keep my cats off of things like counters and our entertainment center. It works for me but you have to cover every inch of whatever you wanna keep them off my cats would find even the smallest gap and exploit that and climb right on up. But they work well for me with no gaps. A hassle to take up and down but I don't think these are designed for counters so they work. Some of the spikey things have broken off but my cats are also suuuper persistent so they get dropped and whatnot often. Looks exactly like the picture. I do wish they were bigger though
