With less computers in 2024 coming with disc drives, this external Blu-Ray drive is such a useful device to have to use your CD's, DVD's and Blu-ray discs on your PC or Mac, and I have tested it on both, and it easily mounts with no need for extra drivers. This drive doesn't only play these discs, but it can also burn all 3 disc formats and it does so reliably. Depending on your setup, you may need additional software, but I was able to connect it and burn discs and play them using readily available freeware. The drive also has a nice extra feature for SD cards, and has a hub for USB A and C devices, an Ethernet port, and an HDMI output for connecting an additional monitor - all nice bonuses, but just be sure to use the external power supply if using multiple of these additional ports, although it doesn't need it for just running and burning discs. While using the included USB C power supply, it can also fast charge USB C connected phones and other USB C devices. For it's price, it includes the disc drive, a high quality braided USB C cable, the USB C power supply, a C to A adapter (not for high speed) for older computers, and an instruction manual. It's a good value for what is a useful and well constructed drive.

The Hub portion contains enough inputs for use with my Laptop (which has only 2 USB-A & USB-C inputs). This unit was a replacement for the first one (in which the Hub portion seemed to stop my Laptop from booting unless all inputs were disconnected). This unit ... no problems. DVDs & Blu-Rays play consistently with PowerDVD 23 software. I recommend this player.

I already have game consoles that play all my disc formats but wanted something small and simple to play regular old DVDs from back in the day since I have a bunch of those. If I didn't get this at a discount I probably wouldn't buy it because it seems super expensive for something so old. It works though for playing old DVDs. Probably won't use it to burn anything but it's nice to have the option.

I have found this to be a very useful device for use with both my laptops and desktop computers. Even though my gaming desktop has an optical drive it doesn't support SD cards, and this drive is more or less a hub that provides that capability and more. At the same time, my laptops do not have optical drives, and generally have fewer USB connections than I need. In either case this drive brings much needed connectivity options that expand the convenience and capabilities of my computers in one convenient package. It's very similar to many portable laptop docking stations with the added capability of an optical drive, and I have actually replaced the docking station for my laptop with this drive in my travel kit. I also like that all the expansion ports are on the right side of the drive, and the optical drive try is on the front. This arrangement allows me to orient the drive so that all the ports are facing towards me with the optical drive still easily accessible. I have seen others with most of the ports on the back, or on both sides, making them far less accessible and convenient. Although I find the drive/hub very useful, and of high quality, it does seem priced a little high especially considered against similar products, but I have also seen docking stations with less capability priced higher, so I have somewhat mixed feelings on the price. Value aside, it's a solid piece of kit for anyone needing an optical drive with a lot of extra connectivity.

I already have few blu-ray disk readers and writers but this one is more recent and supports much faster speeds of 5G compared to the older ones I have. It also has additional ports for connectivity which is a big advantage specially in today's connected devices.

There is a lot of functionality crammed into this one small device. Almost too much. :-)I tested it both reading and writing disks, all well.USB ports (as an extra hub), card reading, ethernet, HDMI... Great to have a small all-in-one device that fits easily on the desk or can go with you in the bag. Especially for laptops born without. All that said, it also seems to be priced very high; even when comparing to what is packed in it.
