Note: Additional software, not included with this product, must be purchased to play and burn BD discs.
The reasons and solutions for Blu-ray drive not recognizing discs are as follows:

Check the disc for damage. Wipe the disc with a soft cloth from the center out to remove dirt. If the disc is fine, try other discs to see if the problem is with the disc.
Check the software. BD discs need special software to read. Make sure you have the right software. If the software is wrong, the CD-ROM drive may not see the disc.
Check the driver. Check if the optical drive driver is working. If the driver is the problem, try updating or reinstalling it. To find the optical drive, go to Device Manager. Right-click and select "Update Driver Software." Follow the prompts.
Check the settings. The operating system settings may affect the CD-ROM drive. Make sure the optical drive is enabled in the BIOS and operating system. Check the status of the CD-ROM drive in the Device Manager.
Please make sure that your disc is not blocked, copyrighted Bluray have zone bit code protection. You need to download the shielding software AnyDVD to decode the the zone bit code.
If the optical drive still can't read the CD-ROM, consult us.

3. Some Blu-ray discs are thicker than normal and make too much noise when played. This is normal. Try a thinner disc. It's quieter.

4. If the disc tray won't eject, it may be due to insufficient power. The notebook needs power. You can also open it with a small needle.

This unit worked well for just under 2 days. By the evening of the 2nd day it had issues ejecting the disc. By the morning of the 3rd day it was dead. My computer could see it but it was completely unresponsive. I reordered one with 5 star reviews made in Japan.

Stopped working after 2.5 months of sporadic use. Never dropped, mishandled, or anything that would damage it. Complete waste of money.

This Blue Ray Drive is very easy to use. I always regretted getting a computer without a blue ray drive and this one works great. The cord is not as long as I would like it to be. The drive does exactly what is was intended to do. The only negative that I can see is that this blue ray drive is a little noisy but I got use to it and I was able to ignore it after awhile. But overall this is a great Blue Ray Drive

This is a great deal for a combined Blu-Ray and DVD external drive. I like the built-in USB-A and USB-C cable. When copying Blu-ray or DVD using Windows Explorer or when copying using MakeMKV, it's running at 1.5-2.0x speeds, and not the 6x + for Blu-Ray and above as shown in the products images. Maybe there is something more I need to do, but the manual said it was plug and play.

I got this in June 2024 (this year) for the purpose of transferring data from CD. It worked the one time I used it then. Today (2days after Christmas), I went to use it again and it is unable to read the disc data. It tries repeatedly without giving an error. It just spins, stops, moves the laser and tries again. Same for multiple discs. As far as I can tell it will keep trying into infinity if I let it.I obviously expected a longer period of usefulness from the product and can’t recommend it for others.

UPDATE - the same day that I made my complaint in the feedback here, the company reached out and asked if they could send me a new one (or refund). They did send it, and I got it the very next day! It works great, and I appreciate their fast response and that they reached out to help me. Very impressed with the customer service. Thank you very much!!!!Previous feedback:Ive only used it a couple of times, and Ive made sure to wrap it up safely when Im not using it. Just took it out to use it for the 3rd time, and its making a loud clicking noise and does not work. Ive tried connecting it to a couple different computers, and it just clicks and clicks and then the light goes off and it does nothing. Would not recommending buying this one if you are in the market for a BD drive.
