I received this 63/64” (25mm) hole saw and immediately put it to work to drill a hole for the ignition switch for my current project — 1” was slightly too large. It cut a very clean and accurate hole in the steel dashboard. Looks to be very well made; much better than stamped steel stuff at local hardware stores. I may use it again, but have let friends know it’s available for their project. Good tool at a reasonable price!

I used a 1.5" bit for cutting 4 holes in 2" by 0.25 tube steel to insert dom pipe for a project I'm doing. Fitment was pretty spot on, but understand that I am no machinist and tight tolerances are not required for what I'm building. My drill press can do 250 rpm minimum and I did experience chatter and binding. This is likely due to the limitations of my press. It quieted down once the cutters got about to 75% of their height into material. I used lots of engine oil and took my time. If I could dial it down to 80 to 200rpm it would have probably worked better. Despite that, it completed the task that it needed to without failure of any kind. It was well worth it for my needs.

Drilled hole in a stainless sink. Plumber did not have the hole cutter and was concerned about the liability. Turned out be be very easy.

I used this to cut 3- 2" diameter holes through 1/4" plate steel. I used a drill press at 150 RPM and used cutting oil. It did wobble a bit, but the holes were only .05 thousand over the 2" mark. so perfect for my needs. I feel that the people that are having problems with the teeth breaking off are trying to drill it with a hand drill, that will work on wood, plastic, and sheet metal, but if your cutting through plate steel you can't keep it steady and even with a hand-held drill, which will cause chatter and premature tool wear. also, the RPM needs to be kept low to reduce heat. for a $14 cutting tool you cant go wrong.

I have to create holes in Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) boxes. If the holes are much bigger than 1/4in then the plastic tends to shatter around the hole or the box cracks. I tried using a hole saw for wood but it gets blunt quickly and always leaves a rough portion at one point where is breaks through, not to mention the mess of dust that gets into your hands and you have to wear a mask. A friend introduced these to me. They are almost perfect for cutting holes into FRP, there is very little dust and it is fine, the hole is clean cut and the whole circle comes out near perfect. I will always use these for making holes in FRP and GRP boxes. Would recommend and I love them.

I purchased this to cut a clean hole through a stainless steel kettle and it worked very well!I first had to drill a pilot hole to prevent the bit from skittering around, then I oiled the surface of the kettle where I was going to drill and really went to town. The hole was cut in under a minute. I realized I needed a plug-in drill, my 20volt battery power drill just didn't have the strength to cut through the material.Overall, I am impressed with how clean the cut is and had to do minimal cleanup after the hole was cut.

I bought this bit for a job and it couldn't even make a single hole. Not even halfway through a piece of very thin 16ga mild steel the bit threw two of the teeth off the bit and completely deformed. Absolutely useless. Find another bit if you want to actually use it.
