We used this to keep down the dust when installing recessed lighting. The hole saw created tons of dust and debris when going through the drywall ceiling. The caught most, it wont catch everything, but nothing will. We still covered the couch and vacuumed afterwards. A little difficult to see around to hit the mark, but doable if you are tall enough to get your face up there.

I don't know whether it was damaged and shipping or Manufacturing. After drilling three holes the metal ring separated from the silicone cone leaving dust and debris everywhere. Either I just got a bad one or it's a poor product. One way or the other I wouldn't recommend this brand to anyone.

We used this combined with a hole saw to install 6" ceiling LEDs. It was too deep for the center drill and saw and tended to spin with the saw, so left noticeable circles around a few of the holes. It was helpful for catching dust but wasn't the best combination with the saw we used. It did flex with use so that it followed the saw as it cut the sheet rock.

So far so good. Had to make holes through drywall and sonopan. Not sure of longevity but so far so good.

Seems like an ok product but arrived in a box too small and now has permanent crease lines around the rim. Leaves a gap against the ceiling now when drilling making dust fly out, unless pressing very hard.

I purchased the set of two about 2 months ago, I gave one away and kept the other one. One hot day I left it inside the working truck and literally melted the plastic. I tried to fix as much as I could with a heat gun and almost fixed it 100 % and the very first time of use it literally lasted 2 holes when the metal ring came out, and the plastic stretched to a point that I couldn’t put it back. Very cheap material, I wouldn’t buy them again.

I didn’t take pictures, but this is definitely worth the buy. My husband put 7 holes in the ceiling for lighting in the kitchen… I was afraid there would be dust everywhere! But with this amazing tool, all the dust that came from cutting holes 🕳️ stayed inside the bowl.I may upload some pictures next time he uses it. It made was so easy to use and no dust that I plan on having make more holes for more lighting in the living room, the hallway, etc

I tried a few similar items. This one is durable because it has a steel washer inserted into the bowl hole. the one i got with my bit at lowes was completely horrible, it did not really work at all. One tore apart at the hole. This one fits flush against the ceiling making a nice seal. I think people still need to be careful if they want to mitigate the dust. For example, you have to be prepared to do something with the drywall/dust/insulation particles that fills the bowl. I drilled the hole, carefully came down the ladder, unplugged the drill, and brought it outside! Then I dumped out the bowl, and drilled the next hole... :)

I ordered this Dust bowl and thinking it was the one I have ordered in the past, but it is not. This Dust bowl works fine and came a week or so later. Upon further investigation I notice the one I just ordered is made by a offshore company. I also noticed that the original one I ordered is made in the USA. I prefer to support made in the USA products and for a dollar or so more. I will be more careful and will seek out and only by the original one that I understand is made in USA.
