If you are look for water containers for your chickens go this way learn from my trail and errors . I really like this method go buy a bucket at Lowe's get the top also keeps water cleaner and fresher if you can find a red one better yet birds are attracted to the color red . I do check k in the colder weather on the nipples just to see they didnt freeze up cuz it is metal and I do use a warmer underneath the bucket. I cant say enough about this idea I will never go back to the old ways

Great product, my chickens were constantly getting the watering dish NASTY. I decided to throw these nipples in a 5 gallon bucket and no more mess! No leaking either

Horizontal poultry nipples are absolutely the way to go. They last in any and all weather conditions, and they’re super easy to install. I love this kit they have which includes the drill bit, a plastic washer and a little tool that makes it so much easier to screw the nipples in. It’s perfect!

My chickens eventually (kind of) figured out how to use these. However, they would peck over and over, then barely get a drop. It was not enough water for them to really get it figured. I tried them for two weeks, but consistently had to go drip water out of them myself to try to teach the chickens. Returned.

I installed these on a 55 gal drum. The included bit made it easy to to know the holes would be the exact size needed. There's also a bit included that fits over the waterers to assist with screwing them into the drum, but this is where things go wrong. The waterers spin easily, making it seem like they need to be tightened more...and then they snap. I snapped 3 of them while trying to install, as there's no good way to know they've been tightened enough. I could not remove the broken piece that stayed in the hole, so I left it there (surprisingly there's nothing leaking from the broken ones). I have plenty of others installed on the drum, so we're still using the ones that aren't broken.

I bought these and installed them on a hardware store bucket, the drill bit that comes with them is the perfect side!! They do come with a roll of Teflon tape which I didn’t need at all, I was able to simply thread the nipples into the holes and tighten them down, my chickens hate them and won’t use but they work exactly as intended.
