My son gave me a weight set with a 2 piece bar. I got to the max amount I could lift with the bar. At 68, this is my first time lifting. (Started 6 months ago.) I was two pounds short of pressing my weight, (133) so I wanted to get more weights, because there was no room on the 5 foot bar. So, I need a new barbell first. This bar is awesome, weighs 15 pounds and is great for my home gym. I have the squeeze clamps and they work fine. Can't beat the value for the price.

1inch clamps do not stay put. They slide around on the bar. Not safe. Now I have to try to buy clamps that fit or just return the bars.
