This is durable and sticks to the bar unlike those flippy floppy extra foam ones

On heavier squats I like using a thinner barbell pad and this one is perfect for me. The fabrication is excellent, the padding cushions without being too thick and unstable for squats, and the Velcro closure insures that it will stay in place. I’ve tried a few and this is my favorite barbell pad when needed and highly recommended!

Great sturdy little pad. Makes it easier to squat without the bar hurting my upper back/traps. Just right. Fits the bar and velcos tight.

I came back to review after using it for a while. Very good quality, fits general Olympic bar perfectly (very tight)! I guess the other option with larger diameter might be a bit loose on the Olympic bar.

Every since the pandemic has happened, I've decided to use this product in a different way when I'm not using it for the squat bar. I have placed the core bar pad around the handle of my shopping cart. It fits perfectly, and I feel more comfortable knowing that I'm not touching the shopping cart with my hands. Otherwise, this pad is great for working out and fits snug against the squat bar. Great product!

Have really gotten into doing heavier squats (for me at least) and working my way up in weights. But I was getting some non-visible bruises along the base of my neck because of the bar rest on my spine.I looked at several options for these pads. I like this one because it seems very minimal. It's not super padded and bulky, which is good thing. It provides just enough padding to prevent the potential "injury" without making it seem like the bar isn't resting on my shoulders and back like it should be. I also like the simple black over some of the more gaudy options on Amazon.

The Harbinger Classic Bar Pad is good and comfortable. Unfortunately, it does not wrap around the olympic bar fully and has a small gap. This causes the pad to slip a bit. Otherwise, it is well padded and is a really good product. Helps a lot when u r lifting pretty heavy weights.

After using this bar pad for the last 4-5 months I can say that is has gotten enough time to prove itself, and it has done just that. This pad holds up, provides incredible support, and fits perfectly around an Olympic Bar. I have been using it for my squats, and the most weight I have ever done with it would be around 275. I couldn't imagine trying to do that without this pad!As for whether it holds up when you put more weight on I can't say. Even if I had to buy this yearly or twice a year it would be worth it! It is not worth risking any injury to your muscles or bone structure by lifting without one. So to who ever might say it's not worth it, or that it's weak, isn't in it for the gains or weight lifting.I would highly recommend this pad, it has beat several others in my opinion and works perfectly for the situation!

This is a great pad. It fits perfectly around an olympic bar pad - the closure doesn't wrap around, the two velcro'ed ends meet, which creates a smoother surface. Keep in mind, this isn't one of those really thick and big bar pads that you'll often see at the gym - the really big, cushy ones. This one is sturdy foam, which makes the bar less of a burden on your back as opposed to the big ones, but also decreases the cushion. To be honest, as long as you're holding it right for squats (or other similar exercises), it shouldn't be a big issue. My husband loves this, he says the ones at the gym are too bulky whereas this one fits on his back better. The only exercise I would recommend a larger pad for is glute bridges, only because I've felt bruised if there's not enough padding. But for squats, good mornings, lunges, etc, this is great, and at a very fair price. Just don't forget to take it off the bar at the gym when you leave the rack! (I've had to buy two because of this - since they've gotten stolen! I now marked mine like a preschooler by writing my name on it in huge letters with White-Out. Don't judge me, it works.)

I purchased this bar pad to go with my Olympic Barbell Cap 7' 0B-86B and it fits perfectly. This particular Olympic barbell has an ideal thickness of 28mm. I can even fit my finger partially under this bar pad which means that greater than 28mm barbells will work as well. Thicker barbells make it harder to grip and most people prefer 28mm, 28.4/5mm, 29mm barbells. This bar pad easily fits the 28mm barbell I have wiggle room for thicker barbells. At the gym I avoid using thick barbells for bench pressing. Even for squats I avoid 31mm+ barbells. I use chalk instead of gloves because it makes gripping the bar easier (especially for dead lifts). The bar pad has alleviated that uncomfortable feeling of the barbell contacting my body when doing squats. I have been using this bar pad without any issue since I received it. I do squats three days a week and this bar pad is well worth the money.I'm not certain why one of the reviewers told people "buyer beware." There is nothing wrong with this bar pad. The reviewer claiming this product is a "waste of money" makes me wonder if he received a bad bar pad and needed a replacement ... something that could have easily been fixed by contacting the manufacturer. Unless someone is using an irregular sized Olympic bar there should not be any fitment issue. Although I do not have a 32mm Olympic barbell to test fit this pad ... there is plenty of wiggle room left on my 28mm barbell.
