- #61 in Camera Lens Hoods

Poorly made using a greasy rubber material (maybe that's mold release); excess flashing around the rim needed to be removed with a scissor. On the plus side, it is the size it's supposed to be (mine is 72mm) and threads into lenses properly. As for the 3 positions of this hood go, it easily stays at the fully collapsed and fully extended positions, but doesn't really want to stay in the middle position. I guess you get what you pay for...

Negative: The material is so thin that it fails to stay round when extended to "medium." It is too easy to partially collapse the hood on a side just from carrying your camera. When you bring it up for a shot, first you must straighten the ring back to round or it will partially block the lens.Positive: The threaded metal ring seems fine as you install it on the lens.

Just received these today. Fits my lens perfectly. Haven’t had a chance to actually use them yet.

The item in question is a rubber lens hood. It appears to have a metal ring and decent albeit thin rubber. However, the rubber part of the hood "pops out" of the groove in the metal ring. The rubber part is not secured by any adhesive ("bonded") to the metal part. Utterly worthless.

I use this Lens Hood to shield my 67mm Variable ND Filter from rain, more than anything else on my Neewer S24 Ultra Camera Rig Case.Be warned through, you lose the 0.6x "Ultra Wide" Screen if you use Stabilization on your Samsung. It ends up appearing as a black fringing. I use the 1.0x Lens and, so far, it seems to work fine as I haven't seen the Lens Hood enter the Frame. All in all, a good deal for 2 Lens Hoods!

A única queixa deste artigo é o cheiro a borracha sintética. Sente-se bastante esse cheiro e fica no saco.

As a note, I purchased these to tape a plastic bag to for protection at a Holi Festival earlier this year so they were effectively disposable.Since they cleaned up well, I hung onto them for use when the normal hard lens hood was not practical. They work but can pull off the filter mount easily. When folded back they do provide a fair amount of shock protection to the end of your lens.

This is a very inexpensive, rubber lens hood that protects the front element and allows the camera to be held against a glass window, for example, to make photographs without nasty reflections . Just the thing for a train trip.

I take a lot of photos through bus windows and get a lot of reflections of those sitting in front of me included in my shots. Because I have learned that putting the lens against the bus window will minimize reflections, I have tried that. However, I am not happy with many of the results, so I began to look for a hood that was not rigid and that would protect my lens. There were several options, but because the Sony RX10 IV is a bridge camera, I needed a hood that would not interfere with the manual zoom and manual focus rings. I found one brand on Amazon, but the seller had it listed for $34.95 and charged a 50% restocking fee. This pair was identical to that model, but far more reasonably priced.I liked that the metal ring allowed the hood to be screwed onto the lens as it was secure and would not “pop” off. However, it does “pop” off the metal ring if you try to squash your lens cap into a camera case that is not quite large enough. My husband super-glued the ring to the rubber hood so this would not happen; he used Gorilla Glue. The lens cap still fit and protected my lens surface; it no longer "popped" off the metal ring. I really like having a backup hood - just in case. There is vignetting when my RX10 IV is set at 24mm; I will have to work with this issue so I do not have a number of circular shots. The hood is extremely effective in preventing glare/reflection when shooting through glass.
