My bbq's are on wood decking which must be protected from fire and stains. I had been using galvanized steel oil-drip trays (sold to collect oil drips from vehicles) placed over an outdoor carpet runner (flame resistant) which covers the wood. One of those trays under my propane bbq rusted out so I replaced it with this product. The new pad is the right size, looks substantially better than the oil-drip tray, and should do much the same job. It should last longer too. Still, the oil-drp tray does have one advantage: it has a lip around the outer edge meant to contain oil; but, when used under a charcoal bbq/smoker, it also contains wayward chunks of burning wood or charcoal that fall out and can roll onto the wood decking. For my charcoal unit, I will continue to use the oil-drip tray. Thus 4 stars.

It does the job and keeps oil and grease off my deck, but is a little flimsy and doesn't stay as flat as I'd like. If it rains out water tends to stay piled up on it. Otherwise it does as advertised

This is a great mat for many reasons. It lies flat. Its large size allows great coverage under our grill and is big enough that the legs of the grill hold it in place nicely. It is easy to clean. It is nice looking. And best of all it keeps the inevitable drips from staining our patio.

Purchased this to protect our new deck. I like the size and the quality seems to be on point. When anything drips from the grill, this easily hoses off.
