This fire pit mat seems like it will hold up okay—it’s fireproof, oil-proof, and waterproof, which is great for protecting the surface underneath. However, it ended up being a bit small for my Solo Stove Bonfire.I recommend measuring your fire pit first before purchasing, just to be sure it’ll give you enough coverage. The material is a little thinner than I expected, but it still looks like it’ll offer decent protection for most outdoor surfaces. If you have a smaller stove or grill, this might work well. But for anything on the larger side, you might want to go with a bigger or thicker option. 24" was to short for my firepit.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:You couldn't even use this thing as a tiny rug. I'm not sure what fireplace is supposed to fit on this...It also does NOT lay flat. Just kind of pops up like a new hat's bill.Don't do it. You could get something better on Temu or Wish at this rate.

Originally I was hoping to use this with my outdoor fire pit, but it was smaller than expected (that was my fault, I should double checked the size of my fire pit). Instead, I took this camping to use under my 22inch Blackstone griddle. Even though the griddle is square and the mat is round, it fit perfectly! We were able to sit the griddle on a plastic outdoor table (seen in the picture) and used it at least five different times on the trip. Actually, the round was actually great for helping catch a few hot crumbs, too. We were really worried that the heat would melt the table, but this mat, even though it feels kinda thin, protected the table perfectly and after three days, there wasn't a lick of damage. Totally recommend! (Just measure your heat source, whatever it might be, lol)

This works great under the firepit! It keeps the grass from catching on fire, or any surround lawn from floating embers. Heavy duty material, easy to wash off and clean. It can be moves to any area you want to move you firepit too, also great for protecting concrete, wood decks, any surface you place your firepit on.

We used this mat underneath our fire pit, and it fit perfectly. We were specifically looking for something to protect the grass from heat and embers—and this does exactly that. The material feels high quality and durable, and I really like that it’s coated on both sides for extra protection. It’s easy to clean and doesn’t curl or shift during use. If you're looking to protect your patio or lawn while using a grill or fire pit, I recommend this mat.

This protective pad fits perfectly under my fire pit and feels very well made. While we haven’t had any burning wood or embers fall onto it yet, it gives us peace of mind knowing there’s an extra layer of protection just in case. One unexpected bonus—it’s great at catching roasted marshmallows! When one fell, it wiped clean with a damp cloth, which is a huge plus. No more sticky mess in the grass, and best of all, no more wasps or yellow jackets showing up to feast on the leftovers. Highly recommend!

I ordered this mat as the one I had previous curled up horribly. This mat is wonderful, and is several layers thick. I put it under my propane rock fireplace on my deck, and it looks great! I needed a thick, non-curling mat to make sure when I use my propane fireplace, that I am not risking my wooden deck and/or my beautiful outdoor rug. This is a quality mat. I recommend this.

Very disappointing. This mat is so thin that I couldn't imagine it really protecting my deck from the heat from a fire pit so I decided to test it without much risk. After heating a pan of water to boiling, I put it on the mat, waited 5 minutes and checked the temperature of the underside of the mat- it was too hot to touch. While it may not catch fire itself and it likely will prevent burns from an ember, I can't imagine that whatever surface is under this mat will be protected from damage from high heat.On the positive side, it is compact, very flexible and has no off odors.
