It is a DECENT soldering tool for beginners. The temperature control I'm pretty sure isn't that accurate but it does get hot really fast. The tips are pretty good that comes with it. The solder and resin is pretty good also. The ONLY MAJOR ISSUE is that the handle gets pretty hot to the touch after about 7-10 minutes of use and so you have to let it cool down before trying to use it.

The iron and more importantly the tips are well designed. I do like the power switch so that I don't have to unplug the iron between breaks. The power LED could be brighter, but I love the tips. The don't instantly carbonize and seem to be made of 2 types of metal where the tip remains silver (mostly) and the below part turns blue after a short time, like heat treated metals (totally silver when new). I don't care for the tiny sponge or the iron holder. Not sure why they all don't come with steel wool as it is infinitely better than wet sponge.

As stated in the title the fine point tips never got hot enough to melt the solder, I wound up going back to my Weller to finish the job. The tweezers included needed manipulation to get the tips the ability to grab small objects (they didn't meet correctly otherwise). The sponge/tool holder was a joke. The flux seemed to work fine as did the solder they included. The digital indicator looked more like a count u timer rather than accurately displaying the temperature of the iron. No iron reaches 400F in that short amount of tie. The main problem was the heat transfer to the small tips was poor.

Its a good quality, cheap priced, siloldering iron that has interchangeable tips for different soldering tasks, and has a variable temperature adjustment dial, as well as an "off" & "on" switch! It also comes with a mini stand and tip cleaning/wipping sponge, a small reel of 0.8mm solder spool, 5 different tips, and instructions! U can't beat the price and quality!

I'm a beginner hobbyist in electronics and bought this iron to learn with. I've used it to solder a small project together, a couple hours' work. I used low melting temp leaded solder and tips I bought separately, both from separate manufacturers. I haven't tested the tips it came with or the solder it came with.I've only ever used the bare bones harbor freight irons.I am very satisfied with the tool. I was able to solder together a whole project and have it work, and it uses cheap easily available tips so I can burn em up and not worry. So long as it keeps working and doesn't break on me for a good while, I'd recommend it.The rest of what comes in the kit is kinda just filler. I dunno if the solder is any good. Didnt try the tips either, bought a ten pack separate. It has a stand and a sponge but they're tiny, minimum viable. There's a generous tub of some kind of flux, which I did use and it worked fine for running wires and such.

So, I bought these for my sons. The irons work great and well worth the price. The solder is not leaded solder and so it melts a high temp; leaded solder is better with this iron. The Iron stand and sponge work fine but are tiny. I would buy this again and might get myself one too.

The gun works fine, temperatures seem close to display. However every tip that comes for the gun is too small diameter, and just falls out of the holder. The only tip that fits is the original one that comes in the sheathe.

Never soldered before and was skeptical with it being cheap, (usually $9.99 on sale for $7.49)and how some people's reviews say "just spend a little more money on a better one" but I figured with enough good reviews and it being black Friday on sale, id go the cheap route since for now I just needed it for 1 or 2 things. But I do have to say, first time I used it, it payed for itself!!! Really glad this product worked just as intended. Fixed an old 24v kobalt battery that had a burned trace on the board, that needed to be soldered to bridge the connection, and brought it back to life thanks to this product!! Can't really beat the price for what your getting. And I give it 5 stars for it working as it should without any issues, and the tip looked great still after use(and I did mess up and make 2 little solder balls before I actually figured out a trick and got it to melt good to the tip, and drop it on the connection, and spread it a little. Worked like a charm, the kit comes with everything you'd need to get the job done, and was cheap and easy to use nice grip to the handle, just don't touch the metal by the tip!!! lol

This soldering gun works great you just need to buy more tips or better quality ones so your machine will last, as when the tips loose their coating it's harder to solder
