I had never had a sensitivity test performed on my cat so was impressed at how many items were tested. Hopefully eliminating the items in RED will resolve his obsessive licking.

We have been trying to guess what causes our labradoodle to lick her paws so much and finally decided to do this allergy test. It was very informative and when I had questions, the company was very responsive and helpful. Can’t wait to remove some of the things identified to see if it helps our fur baby.

Loved the product. Finally have confirmed answers to what we suspected our little guy was allergic to and sensitive to. Great help for his diet and skincare. Very quick results. Peek-A-Boo is doing great! I recommend this.

As a French Bulldog owner dealing with seasonal allergies, I decided to try the 5 Strands Raw Pet Food and Environmental test, and I’m impressed! The test was easy to use, and the results were prompt and clear. I was surprised to find that many of my dog's favorite foods were on the list of allergens. We’ve already started adjusting her diet based on the results, and I’m hopeful this will help improve her allergies. This test is a great way to identify triggers and manage your pet’s health effectively. Highly recommended!

I ordered this kit and sent in my sample 3 weeks ago to the Toronto address on the return envelope. The 5 Strands website still says it’s awaiting my sample. My friend ordered the kit directly from the 5 Stands website and sent the sample to the US address and got her results in a little over a week.If I don’t have results in another week I will be asking the seller for a refund. Waiting this long for results is unacceptable.

I purchased the 5Strands Raw and Environmental for more insight as to what could be causing my adopted dogs skin issues. I was pleased to see the protein results clearly broken down to get me started on the right track to assist her and it helped tremendously. Also knowing what synthetic vitamins were a trigger was insightful when considering feed. After almost a year and working through most of her issues, I retested again with the raw food intolerance and was surprised to see quite a few changes. I made a phone call to customer service and spoke with a wonderful representative who assisted me with some of my questions. This test has been instrumental in helping us get our dogs health on track and knowing what her triggers are.

We had our test picked up by our USPS mail carrier on Aug 2 and tracking showed it was scheduled for delivery back to 5Strands Aug 5.On Aug 4, I got an email that my sample had been received by the processing center. The email included the next steps, which include videos to watch to explain results and actions to take after results are received. The email says it is "REQUIRED" to watch 3 short videos for step 1, but there are actually six there. Step 2 is FAQ's and Helpful Links. Results were emailed to me Aug 9th. Um, whoa... Over 1/3 of all things tested were RED for my dog. I panicked. I wanted the best for her, but the idea of eliminating all those things, just to have a baseline was intimidating to say the least. I started looking for foods and companies to help make feeding her safer and easier. Trying to balance the nutrition she requires and seeing all those limitations... Well, a fluke link in my search was for a PubMed study about this exact type of testing. Guess what? There is zero evidence for it. And the more I looked, the more I found with people who'd found the same - that even repeating the test gave VERY different results. I called the vet before doing anything else and they confirmed that elimination diets WILL help you determine intolerances and allergies, but hair testing has 0 HARD, THIRD PARTY VERIFIED proof of accuracy for allergy and intolerance testing. Save your pennies and run the test through your vets and don't chase your tail with this!

We have a large breed dog that has allergies to food or something. He scratches all the time. So, we decided to do one of these food intolerance and environmental test. The instruction on how to collect the sample and send it in were very clear. Step by step instructions to a "T." Once, I pulled the hair and sent it in and within a week we had the results emailed to us. The results were very enlightening. The breakdown of food was immense for both food and outside things. If printed the results were about 8 pages long. Very clear to read as well. We are now using these results to see if we can help our dog out. Will update if the results are correct and we see a difference with not feeding him certain things. With that being said, we also took our results to the vet who told us to ignore all the food related allergies. She said the outdoor ones are a bit more reliable, but that certainly has me concerned on the efficacy of this test. How reliable is the food portion of the results? I'm really conflicted on it. Now, we are still going with a more natural food source with as few ingredients as possible. Don't get me wrong. The list is certainly nice to see because it acts as a guide to get you going. We also added some local honey to his diet to help as well. Fingers crossed! Now, is this fully worth the price? I really don't know. I feel if you have a dog like mine where he just has a myriad of problems and you don't know where to turn, then ya, you can turn here to get set on a path. But If it's just something minor and isn't really a big deal, then you can probably skip this honestly. Only get this if it's a big issue for the puppers.

Best thing we did for our pet. Made a huge difference, but hard to get all the exact food types cause EVERYTHING has something she should stay away from in it.

I wish I knew just how accurate this test was. I gave it a 3 because I just don't know if I fully buy into all the highlighted allergies. Easy to use, easy to read. I use it as a guide for things that are safe grey/green for my pup. From what I understand, no allergy test is 100%, not even the vet test. I purchased this over a vet test and saved hundreds of dollars to know what is a safe food for my dog.-update from 3 to 5 stars: We have been following the grey responses for our dog's food since purchasing the test. We are pleasantly surprised how accurate the grey foods were. We removed all the level 1-2-3 foods and just fed grey and so far, we have not had flare ups with her allergies. The environmental is still TBD but we have removed all toxic cleaning chemicals from the home and use Dr. Bronner's hypoallergenic to clean the floors. I feel like we are on the right side of keeping her allergies down. This is a pretty good at home test kit to give people direction.
