My landscaper would run into the corner of my wood fence posts with riding mower or with line trimmer. This occurred only during ingress or egress from my gated yard. I bought this to protect the lower portion of my fence posts at the corners. I stained the fence and posts so the shiny finish is almost invisible. Works great!

I read reviews and was concerned about drilling the second holes since in order to have this be adjustable the holes are not pre drilled. It was easy! The included screws drilled through the metal easily!!!

I used this to protect a 4x4 post...that was not a mailbox. It was an end post on the bottom of some deck stairs, almost exactly 4x4 square. The lawn guys were hard on that post because it meets the ground and there's little to no margin around it. I used some JB Weld wood epoxy to fill in and stabilize the very bottom of the post, and used 2 of the 4 brackets to wrap around the sides of the post that were exposed. It worked out very well. Self-tapping screws are included and the aluminum on the brackets is relatively thick, but pliable enough to still be tapped with no pre-drilling from the provided screws. Very adjustable, which was key in my case to compensate for some variation due to the epoxy filler. Accepted opaque deck paint well so it's now essentially invisible. I expect it will last a long time.

The directions are easy to understand, but the screws didn't drill through the metal easily. I had to pre-drill holes for the screws to go in. Looks fine once done.

This was easy to install. It's not a seamless design but I think it'll work just fine for a long time. Not a bad price for the product. It truly is just four pieces of aluminum bent at 90° with holes punched. It's cheaper than I could make it in a timely manner. Good deal!

Bottom of our post was chewed up on our new home and it had a trim piece on 2 sides so a traditional guard would not have worked. This worked great and it was super easy to install with the self-tapping screws! Thank you!
