I got this to replace my wooden post, which I have had for 20 years. I wanted to go with a different look and use a bigger mailbox so packages could be put in the mailbox if needed.The post comes with two options of mounting. using a wooden post to slide over it or mount the base to a concrete pad and bolt it down. Both ways seem like it would last. I decided to use the post I had in the ground and use this to slide over it. The thick steel material makes this post feel soild and built to last. All weathered, no rotting.The post height seems shorter than my current post. I wish there was a way of increasing the height of the post. Mounting the post to my mailbox was straightforward; I was overall happy with the outcome. A bigger mailbox that can hold packages and has water resistance.

Ok its not solid solid but it is stout. The metal is thick enough that when you pick this up, you feel the weight. I ordered this to replace a box that got taken out when a driver was exceeding safe speeds on our road during a snow storm and wiped out the mailbox. This is almost a perfect match for the box we had. It came with the mounting bolts. Nice product. I think I will fill it with cement so the next impact event will not destroy it... not sure yet.
