- Please read the instructions before installation
- The power supply needs to be disconnected before wiring to prevent electric shock or damage to the device.
- Disconnect the leads from the power head at the junction of the power strip or conduit.
- Disconnect the conduit or cable connector, if installed. Label each wire so that it can be rerouted later.
- remove the cover and unscrew the two screws that attach the power head base to the valve body
- Remove the old power head and install a new one

- The V8043F zone valve motor and valve assembly form a bidirectional on/off low pressure valve for controlling hot water flow. You can easily install or replace them.
- The complete 40003916-048 power head can be removed or replaced without destroying the pipe connection or emptying the system.
- The V8043F1036-zone valve motor can be replaced without disassembling the valve body or emptying the system.

Handy friend and Youtube helped me diagnosis why Zone 1 Main house wasn't heating up and what was wrong with the 19 year old Zone Valve head, it was the switch not the motor, surprisingly, wasn't making sufficient contact. This was my first HVAC repair myself and the valve controller head is straightforward to replace. HOWEVER, this device has very cheap screws at the bottom for attaching the wires, would bare unscrew to get the wires in place, despite using multiple Phillip head screws and not a slot for flat tip. Old head had great, solid, deeply grooved screws. Overall build quality is lower than original but it got the job done and heat is back on! Proud of myself for doing it.*HOT TIP* loosen the screws BEFORE attaching to the valve and working upside down, will be much easier to find the best screwdriver tip match and then you only have to add wires and tighten in place.

This was a direct, easy replacement for a V8043F-1036 zone valve head. It seems as well made as the OEM version and works as expected. It took less than 5 minutes to install. The original lasted 19 years. I hope to get at least 10 years out of this one.
