I was somewhat skeptical as a pool owner for over 40 years but it came time to change my sand and my thought was to try these, I mean what can you really lose. Well I cleaned out my old sand, cleaned out the filter vessel and loaded in the 8 lbs of these filter balls instead of 300 lbs of sand.I gave four stars as I made inquires to Amazon and supposedly the supplier as how to wash them at the end of this season in my washing machine as they came with no instructions what so ever.In the meantime I just backwash every couple of weeks when mother nature gives me free water.So far my water has been crystal clear and sparkling white and I plan to continue to use this product.I will add to this review at the end of the season when I wash them in a mesh washing bag in my washing machine for the first time.
