I needed this for a project I am doing. It is hard to get local sources to supply small quantities. I have recently been buying some of my supplies through Amazon. The prices are good and the quality is also good.

This 3/16" plate is reasonably flat and very square. It makes it really nice when all 4 corners are square and you don't have to worry about someone else's poor workmanship but only your own. There was no mill scale either, and that's another nice bonus. 5 stars, highly recommended!

Nice heavy piece of steel. Shows with a nice shine to it but that shine is up to you to apply with 800-1000-1200- 1500 wet grit and then polish and wax. It did eventually shine. I used it to replace the slide portion of my $300 Craftsman planer. I ruined the cheap thin stainless steel unit they have and for which they wanted $110 (1/3 the value of the unit) to replace. Well this piece does not fold but, I think, will serve as an excellent replacement/substitute and a third of the price and I don't have to worry about denting this puppy. Would love to have inserted the pictures but I have no clue as to how to add a picture in Amazon's little add picture spot.

Great quality material. Bought 2 steel plates. Very flat and precisely cut. A much thinner layer of mill scale than I thought, almost non existent. Very happy.
