We have a lot of algae and these got so slimy. They are a great idea and I love not having the sand, but they need more work before I use these again.

Product comes as advertised very lightweight. And I was first looking forward to trying it. After running and using for a few weeks, it is noticeable that smaller particles are not filtered out as well as when you use sand I will be switching back to sand this week.

We replaced 50 lbs of sand with 3 lbs of these balls. We get a lot better flow and after a few weeks we ran them through the wash and were amazed at all the dirt that had been collected. Interestingly they came out of spin a little bigger than they went in and now there are balls left over when we refilled the cleaner reservoir.

We have a small Coleman (14' by 33") pool for the kids and the filter that comes with it uses cartridge filters that cost about $10 for 2 cheap filters. Problem is that these filter balls would get suction into the filter, so we took the fabric/fins of the filter out an put the plastic part back into the filter and put the filter balls in to do their job. So far so good! Our pool is crystal clear and with 3 1/2 pounds of ball, we can take out the dirty balls and immediately put new ones in while cleaning/washing the ones we just took out. There is a little over 3 lbs. of filter balls for $28, and figuring we already bought several filters prior to these balls, these will pay for themselves in a short period of time, especially if we run into any water problems like algae or if our water turns brown again from the well water mixing with chlorine. I feel like we are saving money and saving the environment :-)

These are a great substitution for pool filter sand. We already have some filter balls and I got these so I could exchange them out and keep the pool up and running while one set is being washed. An important thing to remember is to rinse these balls well before use. I place them in our washer on the rinse cycle before I use them. If you do not do this then you risk suds and foam in your pool or worse you may kill any fish or plants in your pond is if the intended use is for a pond filter. I know this from experience. Once they are dirty and need cleans all you need to do is take them out of your filter and place them in your washer for a full cycle and they are as good as new and ready to began cleaning the dirt and particles from your pool again.

I got these for my goose pond, which is pretty gross. We have 2 large filters that the water goes through to clean it, but it still isn’t enough. These work great as a last step. They aren’t a miracle fix for a dirty goose pond, but they are the perfect final media to get the very last of the debris the other filters didn’t get. The difference after using these is noticeable immediately, and that’s amazing for our pond! I wish these came in some sort of a sack, because there are a lot of tiny balls to keep track of when taking them out for washing.

Bought these after being recommended to pop a few into my skimmer basket to help with algae removal. I have a cheap above ground pool with a paper filter system. Extremely ineffective in removing dead algae in the pool and just recirculates it. I also don’t have a vacuum to waste feature on this pool. These little balls seem to do the trick though and help clean the pool.Another plus, once they are dirty they are washable and reusable!
