Love these filter balls! They are washable and reusable and so much easier than messing with sand! Highly recommended

Though these can be reused, we use them for a season and replace them the next spring. SO much better than the old paper filters we were using, only wish we'd have switched filters before we did! This brand had no issues with fibers or anything. Kept our pool clean all summer last year without any issues at all.

These are a game changer for any pool! I substituted the sand in our filter for these and have had a crystal clear pool all season long. These pretty much cut my weekly pool maintenance down to almost nothing. These catch so much debris, are easy to clean-spray off or wash in the washing machine. I highly recommend these and love them so much!!

Way easier to use than sand way lighter than sand. I threw them in and let them do their thing all summer long it kept the water clean and clear. ( as long as you keep schedule with your chemicals.) I never back flushed them I just scooped them all out with a net and my hands washed them and threw them back in. I’m happy with the results.

I replaced my sand with filter balls about a month ago. This is the first time I've inspected them. As you can see, they have absorbed considerable silt and dirt. I rinsed them 3 or 4 times, squeezing out the dirt each time until they were acceptably clean, then re-filled the filter and continued using them. Be sure to run the filter on rinse for a minute or so to get rid of the residual dirty water before running it on filter. PS - I tried just filling my skimmer with the balls when i first got them (as seen on a You Tube video) but they just seemed to foul with all sorts of surface debris that the skimmer would be catching anyway. So using the skimmer to catch the big stuff, and the balls in my filter, seems to be the best working combination. PPS - I backwashed twice before finally removing the filter lid and taking the balls out to clean them. I'm not sure that backwash did much of anything. The balls seem to need to be squeezed out to clean them proper. I won't mind repeating this process once a month.

Sand seems to last longer.Do like that you can clean them.. over...and over... and over again.I've only had them for two months. Have to clean them out about every 3 weeks. Pool runs great for a week and a half. Then a little sluggish. Then it's time to clean them.Easier pool maintenance with Sand. More time to enjoy the pool.

I purchased these us pool filter balls about a week ago to install in my new sand filter. I installed the equivalent to 350 lbs of sand 7 bags of the filter balls. I opened the pool vacuuming the debris off the bottom to waste. it left the water slightly cloudy. I proceeded to run the filter 24/7 for the next 5 days. the water remained cloudy. I was reluctant to use a clarifyer as a most filter balls say not to so I didnt. 7 days later after opening the water still remained cloudy without improvement so I opened the sand filter and saw that the balls were covered in a dirty film that when disturbed looked just like the cloudiness in my pool. So I drained the filter and removed the balls into buckets. I then went to my pool supply and bought 7 50 lb bags of #20 silica sand. I installed the sand and re assembled. I started the pump at 2pm sunday and noted the working pressure was only 1lb more than the balls. The pump ran for 2 hours and already with the sand there was a notable improvement. By 7am the next morning with the sand the water was crystal clear. The filter balls are good in theory but the lack of ability to use a clarifyer and there inability to backwash like sand are serious downfall of the product. that's right they dont backwash like sand. when really dirty your only option is to remove the balls and machine wash them. there is a reason silica sand has been used for so long. it's hard to improve on. So my word of advice is go with the sand. it's harder work lugging the bags of sand but in the end it will just do a better job.
