Ordered these for a project to repair my wood shed. Good quantity/price ratio and they quality is pretty good. I took a star off because I had what I would call abnormally high fall out rate - the head of the screw is not perfectly formed on all of them which means you cant properly seat the nut driver and it slows you down a bit not to mention the frustration factor and scrap rate. I used about half of packages on my shed project and threw away 6 screws which is ~4% fallout rate.

These little guys are perfect. They come with their own hex drive and are SELF TAPPING! If you don't know what that means, it means they drill their own hole in the metal making it easy to use. A lot of "metal roof" screws you get at big box stores are not self tapping, and you spend your time using all your strength pressing down and skipping the screw all over the place. With these self tappers the screws go right in and it's worth its weight in gold. I am using these in the "valley" of the metal, going directly into the purlin. These 1 inchers would be too short to use on the "hill" of sheet metal, but are perfect for use in the valley. Always follow your manufacturers instructions, but for most roofs u (not walls) using 29 gauge sheet steel (the kind that comes in all the pretty colors, not the traditional shiny metal found on old buildings) they have gone to using the screws in the valleys. Old heads may tell you different, so refer to the manufacturer.

Be self-tapping screws are good quality for holding sheet metal or other rigid surfaces during construction where water penetration matters they are painted and seem like they will hold up well to the weather The gaskets are all where they should be and look like they will seal properly I have not had a chance to see how long these will last over time but from my experience and construction these seem like high quality screws that I would use on any important project.

Currently putting a metal roof on my shop, and these little screws are definitely coming in handy right now. The washer is pliable yet sturdy, feels like it should provide a good sealing surface against the elements. The self drilling tips a sturdy enough that I haven't had to pre-drill yet to get through the sheet metal and purlin that I'm using, which has been great, means I only have to carry my driver instead of multiple tools or swapping bits out. And the price is extremely competitive on these screws, definitely a deal by far. So far very pleased with these screws!

I like nearly everything about these screws. They are color dipped from the head down about half an inch on to the shaft. The rubber washer is more than adequate; it spreads nicely when the head is snug to the metal without it breaking apart. The nut driver that comes with the screws is magnetized and plenty heavy duty enough. My only wish is that the tip was a little sharper to penetrate the metal more quickly. I’m using 30 gauge sheets and you have to apply serious pressure to break through. Once you hit wood, it grabs great! Overall, I’m very satisfied. 4.5 stars!

These are made for installing roofing, and come with the usual washers and rubber gasket installed for use on a roof. I ordered them however for use on a project I am doing which requires a lot of screws capable of attaching wood to some fairly heavy gauge sheet steel. These are so much easier than drilling the holes first, then driving in the screw, because these are self tapping, and drill their way through the steel, then screw into the wood underneath. I used 50 of these today, and every one was perfect, had a sharp point, fit the driver properly, never slipped or broke, had no trouble drilling through the metal, and secured tightly into the wood. These are a dark brown color, and the washer and bolt head are painted, with the threads being left bare metal so they drive in easily. One or two had a slight drip in the paint on one of the wrench flats, but it could be used in the driver with just a little extra push to shave off the excess paint drip. These are good high quality screws for a roof, or any other project that needs metal attached to wood. They sell for about $40 for a box of 300 at the time of this writing which is an excellent price for the quality. I think these are a good value, and I recommend them.

These are fine coated roof screws. The coating on them is nice and thick and I expect it to stay on. The rubber ring seems of decent quality and smells like tire rubber. It said there was a driver included, but I did not see one - yet. I might need to toss out the box in a bucket, to find the driver. Though I am sure I have a 5/16 driver laying around somewhere.I am going to use these to install 12/3 aluminum wire in a barn with cable clamps. My issue with standard screws is that in the end, the cable clamp turns with the screw when using an impact driver; with the rubber on these screws, that happens less. And given I'll be installing electricity inside and outside, it's good to have screws that are corrosion resistant.

Decent looking zinc coated roofing screw with a true 5/16 head. Diameter is on the low end range for a No 10 screw at approx .183 inch according to my micrometer. The cardboard package ruptured during shipping, but the screws are packaged in a standard type cardboard box and rupture was more likely a fault of shipping than packaging. My package did not contain a driver bit. I'm using these to replace rusted steel screws on an aluminum roof shed that are No 8 and these work very well.
