I just tried these today in a beam that was easily 1/8 thick. I was a little worried it would be a bit much for them, but they worked very well. Make sure you have a drill that can power them if your taking on something like I did, but the screws cut very well, and screwed in nicely. Certianly some of the better self drilling screws I've used, even the driver that came with them was pretty nice.

Doesn't appear to be galvanized or stainlessthey are magnetic The washer is pretty thinThe socket does work well. The washer also does not cover the rubber gasket when compressed so expect to replace theseevery few years from uv degradation, but over all still good for the price

At the two big chain stores in our town you can buy 12x1-in roofing screws for about $0.12 1/2 cents each. I know this because I have paid for hundreds and hundreds of them. The picture shows the fence I'm working on, it is almost done with only 150 ft. remaining. It is constructed of 3-ftx8-ft metal roofing panels fasten to the wood supports with roofing screws. Because of the expense, this has been an ongoing project over a couple of years and I've got my screws from several different sources .These screws like all the others I've ever used seem to be of the same quality and function just the same .The biggest difference is that you can save about a nickel a screw if you buy at Amazon. And that is probably about the same deal a contractor gets at the Home Improvement store .

I needed some hardware to rebuild my awning that got damaged. I knew I didn't want to mess with a bunch of caulking or sealants so I was looking for sealed screws. I have used screws like this in the past with good results. The price was right so I grabbed them. There is more than enough for the job I had at hand. I ended up using half of the container because once I started my simple repair I realized that a lot of my screws needed to be replaced. These screws drive so nicely and easily that they were a pleasure to use! I may have gotten a little carried away but at least my awning is now well secured!

This is a nice box of #12 - 1" self tapping sheet metal / metal roof screws. The thread on the screws is 3/4" - the self tapping tip is about a 1/4". I don't like to use these shorties through roof into lumber - especially not on repairs where rafters might have some deterioration. The self tapper often tears up the lumber on the way in and compromises the fibers the threads need to bite into. I will use self tappers in new wood - but prefer a longer screw. These FixLinks have a nice tap on them and go through sheet metal relatively easy. The rubber and steel washers are good and form a water tight seal if the screw gets a good bite. They're a good screw for fastening to steel or aluminum. The last box of two Inch screws that I bought arrived in a box that looked like someone took a sledge to it. This Fixlinks box is sturdy - it's not the type that cracks when you look at it. Boxes for this type of hardware are important to me - a good box means I don't lose half of them, I can easily recognize what I have available, and I can estimate how many are in the box. Nice Screws, Nice box, Fair Price.5 Stars

Good quality, self tapping, roofing screws w/ sealing washers. Test of time will be most thorough test... They are not galvanized. They claim to have kept their integrity after '1500 hour salt test'--a test that sounds good, but is new to me. I'm taking on installation of a metal roof soon and will update this review if I encounter anything undesirable with regard to these screws. For now, I recommend them.

You can never have too many screws! These have the washers already attached saving time.

My first impression was that of disappointment when I discovered that the head of the screws is not the size to fit in my quarter inch hex driver, but that concern was immediately assuaged when I discovered that the set includes the needed adapter so that my driver absolutely could do these screws. It just means I have to be careful not to lose that adapter, so I would recommend keeping the adapter with the screws rather than adding them to your general toolbox or something. I don’t know enough about metal roofing or screws to know if the socket is a standard size or not – – but again it doesn’t matter, since it comes with the needed socket. The screws have the needed washer and rubber washer that are attached to each other on each screw. They are already attached and ready to screw in, so there’s no need to worry about if you’ve got enough washers or rubber washers for your project. And they drive into metal roofing very well! I had no problem at all with these, even though other roofing screws, I have occasionally had problems with.I highly recommend them!
