Used these to mount some lights outside my house. The fact that they are stainless means I won't have to replace them any time soon!

American standard head diameter for #10 flat head screws is 0.262", but of the three different boxes of #10 screws I ordered, these measure 0.240". The head diameter is sub-standard and slips through the countersunk holes I'm replacing screws on. This is not acceptable, as an engineer.

These not sheet metal screws, no matter how you slice it. Every since one broke/sheared off on me in metal, and the tip/point just burned off/rounded off if I didn't pre-drill. Not worth the money.

Screws worked well and held my shelf brackets nicely. Make sure you use the correct Phillips-head screw driver or your strip the head.

Got these for securing casters to outdoor light duty carts. I had no trouble screwing them into. Pine, birch plywood, and ash. These are thicker screws so I’d advise drilling pilot holes to avoid splitting your wood. As a sheet metal screw, they punched holes right through without any issues.

Item description: 304 SST Phillips countersink-head wood screw #12 x 1.25Brand: MoyoCodiItem: B0CHQKD3HKDate received: 2024-01-04Headline - Good value on shop-grade 304 stainless steel #12 x 1.25 wood screwsProduct Claims50 ct, #12 x 1.25 inch Phillips wood screws in 304 SST, countersink flat headI received exactly what was claimed in the product description. There is no claim made as to compliance to a product standard. These are all the same #12 diameter and thread pattern, at a nominal length of 1.25 inch. Various other sizes and lengths are available from the same supplier production description, by selection. The items arrived nicely packaged in a reusable plastic undivided hinged box. These screws are fully threaded, and the heads are a countersink head. They are listed as "self-tapping", but these are really just wood screws, and unless you are driving in a very soft wood, you really should be utilizing a pilot hole on the order of the minor diameter. For a good fit to the driving slots, these screws require a PH3 driver head (not included). Measurements on a single sample are listed below, in inches:Overall length: 1.233Threaded length: 1.0255 (first full thread under the head to point)Thread major diameter: 0.2105Thread minor diameter: 0.1590Thread height: 0.0255Head diameter: 0.4155I can't assess the product claim that these are specifically 304 alloy stainless steel, but they are only moderately magnetic, as would be normal for most highly cold-worked stainless steel alloys. (Carbon steel would be much more strongly magnetic.)Why stainless? - stainless screws are not necessarily the highest strength screw you can find (carbon steel screws are normally stronger), but they are normally strong enough for most uses, and they will not corrode (much, some mild surface corrosion is possible). They provide a great broad-based solution for small shops.

I'm restoring a 1961 Ford Falcon-Ranchero. These SS screws were used to secure most of the interior and exterior trim that came standard on this vehicle.
