I recently picked up this 30 Amp Generator Power Inlet Box to wire up my generator for a more “plug-and-play” experience, and I gotta say, it’s been a solid upgrade. The setup was super easy—just followed the instructions, and now I can connect my generator to the house with minimal hassle. The NEMA L14-30P is perfect for my 4-prong cord, and I love that it handles 125/250 volts, pushing 7500 watts with no problem.Compared to other similar products, this one stands out with its weatherproof design, which is a must for outdoor use. No worries about rain or dirt getting in there. Plus, it's ETL listed, so I’m confident it’s up to code and safe for use. Honestly, I’ve used a couple of other power inlet boxes before, but this one is my favorite so far. For the price, it’s a great deal, and it definitely makes my generator setup way more convenient. Highly recommend! 🙌(NOTE: Make sure you always install a Generator Interlock Kit for safety)

The twist-lock fits and holds very good. This box is heavy duty and looks great.

BEWARE - A special tool is required to cut holes for conduit fittings. The box is stamped with what appears to be conduit knockouts but they are not cut, they are only stamped. A knockout cutter is required to cut a hole for conduit fittings. A knockout cutter is an electrical contractor's specialty tool and most handymen, at least none that I know of, don't own such a tool. I searched websites to purchase one. The cheapest I found was $56. For me, that's too much to pay for a one-time use. (Fortunately, one of my friends has some machine shop equipment and was able to cut a hole in the box for me.) On a positive note, the box is well constructed and sturdy. Once installed and wired up, it works well. Connecting the power plant to the house is now quick and easy.

The product is built well with one exception. The knockouts are NOT made to be punched out. They are simply embossed into the metal and cannot be punched out at all no matter how hard you hit them. I had to drill mine out to get a connector in the box. I just can't imagine why the knockouts would be impossible to remove like this. Fix this problem and you get a 10 out of 10 score.
