I had a clogged toilet so I grabbed the large bladder and worked the garden hose in through the window with a shut off valve at the end and found out you have to have the bladder all the way in a fitting or pipe because the bladder will expand outside the toilet and possibly bust or deform so before it got to large I switched to the medium bladder and was able to insert it all the way into the toilet drain and it worked perfectly.

I needed to clear a clogged trap and this selection allowed me to get the right size and was easy to use. It worked like it should and they feel like they will last a long time. I think its a great backup solution to have in case of any last minute emergencies.

I ordered these because we have a clog in our skimmer line. This order came with three different sizes which really comes in handy if you don't know the size of your lines. We go the size right the first time and and pushed the water from the pump side to the skimmer side. We could see where leaves had clogged the line as they started to come from the line back into the skimmer. Our problem was solved in less than ten minutes. These worked perfectly and I'm sure will be used again next winter/fall.Great find!

I need to disclose up front that I have not tested these with an actual clog. I am not going to clog up my drain to test this. I did connect each of the three to a hose and inserted them into an appropriately sized PVC pipe and observed the bladders swell and witnessed water shoot out forcefully from the small aperture. I blocked the other end of the pipe with my palm as forcefully as I could to let pressure build a bit. With other brands of this item, I would hear a pulsating sound, which I guess helps to dislodge a clog with back and forth motion. I did not witness that with these. I cannot be sure if it would start pulsating under the higher pressure of an actual clog. I will update his review when I have to clear a clogged drain. They appear to be well made and will probably last through many years of use.

I have used one of these drain bladders a long time ago and forgot about them. I ended up getting a "home use" sewer jet and used that to clear out clogs I encountered in my 1959 Beach house I purchased. When I COULDN'T clear a recent clog that happened with my "home sewer jet" I was exasperated! Then I saw these and remembered using this years ago in a "new build" home I had back in AZ when the main drain clogged and it working like a dream! The old cast iron main drain in this 1959 Beach house made it a little difficult to get the proper sized bladder inside far enough to work correctly, but I was able to get it in there and turned on the water.........BOOM! Cleared drain just like that! (Just like years ago! It worked fast then and it worked fast NOW!) Just about the easiest way to clear a mainline drain there is IMO.At the time of review the set of 3 is available for under $26 which is a GREAT PRICE for a product you may only use once in a great while. (hopefully) but IS "priceless" to have on hand! I personally think everyone should have a set of these in their garage/shed for drain emergencies. This is something that simply WORKS that you don't "need" until YOU DO!

This set of bladders allows you to pressurize a drain that is clogged up with debris. I've found that they can work well when there is a slight bit of movement in the drain before it gets to a vent. But if there is a vent in between the bladder and the clog, the water from the bladder will go up the vent instead of busting the clog. So in the right situation, these bladders will work well.Regarding construction, the bladders are well made and inflate the way they are supposed to. So far, the small and medium bladders are performing well, and luckily the large bladder has not been needed yet. But all appear to be of good quality and have a standard garden hose connection for attaching to a nearby faucet. You'll need a length of garden hose and an adapter to connect the garden hose to most faucet aerator attachment points.

I have only used one so far; the largest one for a plug in my 4" main drain line. My line runs 300' to the city sewer line, and which point it is over 4 feet deep. After Christmas, my line abruptly plugged up, and when I checked the last clean out it was filled with sewage. Not wanting to dig down so I could run a sewer snake through this clean out, I got this to try. I put it in the exit side of my clean out outside of my house at ground level, and turned the hose on. It made a seal pretty quickly, and then took a bit of time to pressurize the long length of line. When it made a change in sound, I turned off the hose and pulled it out - the drain had cleared. I had several small children with my guests for Christmas, some wearing disposable diapers and pull-ups, and when I checked I did not find any in my trash, so I suspect one or more were flushed into my sewer, and plugged it up toward the end. The additional pressure from this pushed it through so I didn't need to go through the cost and hassle of running a snake through the lines. This was well work it for that. I have not had a chance to try the smaller ones yet, but I suspect they will work well on a solid plug also - but I would be careful with sink drains, as they use slip connections and not solvent welded connections, which may pop apart under pressure.
